Have you ever checked out http://cyberhymnal.org/ ?Turpius said:I've heard "Come and Dine" and "Eastern Gate" at a small country church in central Ohio. It's a shame more of these old hymns are being lost. I've seen several of Fannie Crosby's hymns that I've never heard of only read in old, old hymnals.
Go there, and on the home page, click on PEOPLE. Select "C" from the list that apppears, and scroll down to Fanny. There are many, many hymns of hers there, and you can listen to the midis and read along.
I have posted before that I like Halador Lillenas' hymns, yet very few hymnals include more than one of his beautiful hymns (Wonderful Grace of Jesus). Yet he wrote many hymns that seldom make it into hymnals. Some of the best are "My Wonderful Friend", "I Have Settled The Question", "Tell The Blessed Story", and "Glorious Freedom". If you do not know any of these, they are all on the cyperhymnal site. Here is a direct link to the last one:

I love the old hymns of the church! But I also love, just as much, many of the newer songs. Many people do not know that Halaror grew up in a church that sang nothing but old songs, looking with distain on anything new. Later in life, he found it necessary (for reasons that I do not know) to change churches, and in doing so, he was exposed to "new" hymns. It was that experience that God used to prod him into hymn wiiting!
