I think if I watch the reruns, I would probably see things I missed.

I think there is alot of hidden things in these shows.

I have to fight with kids and wife to watch this show without being interupted.

They always want to have conversations or need my help during this show.
(I only have one show a week, I have to watch.)

^^ Talk about interrupted!!!!! Last week the show was just at the part where the metal briefcase was being opened when my phone rang -- a call from overseas. Naturally since it was my son (military) I wanted the call, but I was DYING!! I'll have to repent for my mixed feelings about answering the phone  . :D

Interesting quote from the above link: "It is great to be in a show that doesn't insult the intelligence of the audience," said Andrews, who plays the tortured ex-Iraqi National Guardsman Sayid.

Don't you feel smart watching the show? Especially when you pick up on the clues or the literary references. I think the show does a good job in an entertaining way, but also does a good job keeping the viewer mentally stimulated. I can't wait for new episodes.

Has anyone else ever wondered why Walt has the accent of your typical African-American?

Considering that he grew up mostly in Australia... wouldn't he have an Australian accent?

(Don't spend too much time thinking on this one... I know this is supposed to be one of those 'errors' that we're just supposed to overlook).

Actually I did wonder about Walt's accent, but I figured he just got it from his mom. Didn't they live in Paris for a while? (Or London? somewhere in Europe, she took him there first as a baby and then they ended up in Australia I thought.) Anyway I just figured he grew up talking like his mom did, but he could probably put on a really good Aussie accent if he wanted to.

This is just a personal peeve based on some of Mel Gibson/Russel Crowe's strained Scottish, Roman, American, etc. accents*, but actors should just be able to play their roles with their accents intact. I'm more interested in the role and their ability to focus and emote than in what they sound like.

*Damien Lewis in Band of Brothers, Hugh Laurie in House and Nichole Kidman in virtually everything are excemptions to this peeve.

Maybe it's just me, but I'd even rather they stop with the pretense of hiding the fact that female characters who aren't pregnant are portrayed by actresses who are expecting. This peeve manifestid itself most recently when Deborah Messing was pregnant and the show went through all sorts of wardrobe and prop stunts when a simple disclaimer - "Deborah Messing is pregnant, Grace is not" would have assuaged the audience.

And I don't even watch that show...

But as long as we're discussing accents, Sawyer, who is supposed to be from Kentucky, sounds more like Matt Maconoghy (sic?) and they both sound like they're from Texas. At least to me. :)

McConaughy (sp?) is Texan, and I agree - Sawyer sounds Texan to me (I'm a native Texan). And I think he's really from Georgia, so he at least has a natural Southern accent. Although there's a big difference between a Georgia and a Texas accent.

I have lived in alot of places, and except for slang terms, I have not picked up
any dialect.

I was born in Arizona, served 2 years in Germany, 1 year in Greece, and a year in New York. And have lived 15 years in Ohio. So the accents don't have to be there.

It would be hard to use a fake accent, ecspecially if you are playing another part too.
Picking one up by living in the area is one thing but to be able to bounce back and forth would be tough.

I'm from Virginia and accents can vary widely depending on your county of origin. I'd never really noticed the accents of any of the "players" that much. I'm always so busy trying to keep up with all the little subtle subplots going on. I'm so captivated that it surprises me whenever anyone I know says they've never even heard of it.

Which episode is on tommorow?

"Hearts and Minds"

"When Locke learns that Boone wants to tell their secret to Shannon, Shannon's life is placed in sudden peril and the shocking truth about her past with Boone is revealed."

I want to watch this one again. All that stuff about the island "showing" Shannon's peril to Boone because it was "what he wanted"... I just feel there has to be a bunch of clues in this episode that I missed the first time around.

I got this from TV Guide's Ask Ausiello column (http://www.tvguide.com/news/askausiello/). It's not much, but it's intriguing and it's making me wish it were next Wednesday already!

Question: Any Lost info, spoilers, scoop... anything!!! — Jake

Ausiello: In next week's episode (spoiler alert!) — titled "Deus ex Machina" — Locke begins to suffer physical problems as he and Boone try to find a way into that mysterious hatch. Meanwhile, Jack is reluctant to help when Sawyer starts to experience excruciating headaches, and Michael and Jin struggle to communicate while working together on the raft. The following week, the big news, aside from Claire going into labor, is that Locke vanishes without a trace.

:D
