Learning to trust God is like learning to drive. It might be difficult at first but as we practice, it becomes more natural.

People who have been Christians for a long time still have difficulty remembering God once their life seems to be going fine. It is a temptation that we all struggle with and daily time with God in prayer, reading the bible, and continually depending on God more helps to remind us of how awesome he is.

Take care. :prayer:

Trusting God is possibly the hardest thing for us... and remembering we need him when things are fine as well is just about as hard. Even the most seasoned Christians fall short on this.

But God will place things, like, say, other people, in your life to help you get through.

We are all wired differently. I know you've probably heard to trust with your heart, etc... and while that's true, I find that some people must first trust with their mind, and the heart will eventually follow. And yes, God can and will forgive. The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

I think what needs to happen is that you need to ask your bf to help you pray the prayer for salvation (there really is no specific prayer, but you need to pray that he is Jesus the Lord God and is the Creator of the universe and has died on the cross to save you).....if you are ready, God is waiting, go ahead and ask your bf to help you.....

This is a common problem for 'New Found Christians.' I had it the first time I got saved. It took a miracle for me to really see what I was missing out on. I'm not saying try and put yourself into a possition that you need a miracle, but try your hardest to keep your mind on God, at all times. In good times think about what has God done for you in the past. In bad times think about what happened last time you were there. If you've never been there before, think about what he can do.

Out of curiousity, which kind of Buddhist? I don't know all that much about Buddhism, but I know enough to know that which kind you were will have some impact on how you will find it easiest to think about Christianity.

Be patient as you grow in God's grace. He is the author and finisher of your faith, so taking one day at a time by faith is how we walk with God. each new day has its own triumphs and failures to experience and talk to God about. Just stay in prayer with Him and in His word. Reading the Bible is the best thing I can suggest. When troubles come in life, they are just natural to this world, but we can learn to trust God just like children and be stronger with each event until our faith grow stronger. Eventually, we can even embrace the trials knowing that our faith is being tested and made more pure, and that we will be vessels more fit for the master's good use.

James 1:2 Dear brothers and sisters, whenever trouble comes your way, let it be an opportunity for joy.
3 For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.
4 So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be strong in character and ready for anything.

1Pe 1:7 These trials are only to test your faith, to show that it is strong and pure. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—and your faith is far more precious to God than mere gold. So if your faith remains strong after being tried by fiery trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world.

1Pe 4:13 Instead, be very glad—because these trials will make you partners with Christ in his suffering, and afterward you will have the wonderful joy of sharing his glory when it is displayed to all the world.

2Pe 3:18 But grow in the special favor and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be all glory and honor, both now and forevermore. Amen.
