Ack, so confusing... I got the Silmarillion from the library, i'm going to read it over the next week... AND i'm going to make myself learn at least a little bit of sindarin and quenya.

I just like reading, not pulling apart the books or the movies in order to find flaws. I enjoy them for what they are -- beautiful histories and legends, and a good story to read on a sick day.

erm, "histories" and legends?

anyway, yes, they are great stories and i love the depth. even without it LotR itself would still be a good book, but without the depth, and the background in the other books, it just wouldn't be what it is and it wouldn't have endured this long.

Yep. Histories and legends that were concieved by probably the most creative author on earth. I don't like to call them 'stories' because that lacks the depth you speak of.

he's sorta girlish, but most elves are =P except the ucky ol' Elrond. Why they chose that guy for him I don't know. Agent Whatever from Matrix =P

Quenya - I can't remmeber the name of the site but search for Quenya Lessons Online in google and you should find a site with the name similar to Ardamblion (something like that).

Personally, I don't consider Legolas NOR Haldir cute. Arwen was ok. Galadriel's pretty. Eowyn's cute
