To clarify why I started this thread...

I want to find other born-again, spirit filled Christians who find the same interest in battling the unknown. This way we can support each other, pray for each other, work together, and be accountable to each other. Make sense? This strategy deals with every issue brought up against it.

Amadeus:

In the end, we can't stop you. You are obviously very passionate about this and we hate to say no to someone who is passionate.

The problem is that you shouldn't simply go around messing with the spiritual world.

I tend to agree with scott. Hey, even Jesus' deciples weren't able to drive out one of the demons. (MARK 9:28)

I still advise strongly against it.

Fear is definitely a powerful weapon of the enemy. It's so important to tread lightly when dealing with this subject. It seems like a noble thing to do, barreling forward for God, determined to face the enemy head-on. Imagine being on the front lines and charging the enemy's position without first being ordered to do so by your commanding officer. Your fellow soldiers may admire your zeal, but it's a good way to get yourself killed. As with all things, we have to follow God's lead instead of our own. If the desire is to deal a blow to Satan, do it by being a good Christian. Bring someone to Christ. Show kindness to someone in need. Evangelize in a rough part of town. Become a prayer 'warrior', interceding on the behalf of others. Now that will inflict some damage to the enemy!

Amen Scott!

Amadeus,

Nobody doubts your zeal for the Lord and your sincerity, which are admirable, but there are some wise and experienced people here advising you.
Pray again about this and really listen to what God is saying.

Also ask at your church; where are you most needed at this time?
Your pastor or house group leaders are probably the best ones to help you explore your gifts and can direct you to where your community needs you.

God bless you, Susana

Two things that need to be considered.
1. The need to understand and answer such issues.
2. The need to be wary of the effect of this knowledge on your own faith and mind.

Unless God has equiped you to address these issues, I would be careful about becoming to deep into them. On the other hand I would not fear them either.
Other than dragging people away from them kicking and screaming... of what purpose is the effort?
Sometimes the only way to fully understand some of these "dark" subjects is to partially buy into them... something we cannot do. When I was a bit younger(oh boy.... old man speaking now :| ) I delved into some such things (Nostrodamus, Swedenborgism, UFO-ology, etc...) and in retrospect I think it hurt me. I thought I was pretty strong in the Lord, and in some ways I was... but it did hurt me. I now wish I had not done it.
I hate to discourage you. If God is telling you to do something, you will not be able to get away from it regardless of what we are telling your.
Just take care friend.

I agree.

This is DEFINATELY not a subject to dive into on your own. We need a big group that needs to be close, mentally and spiritually. Support and wisdom are indeed important. I've also been pretty deep in before i converted. Some of the dark stuff are so alluring.

Plus, to assess the spiritual realm is tricky. We'd have to compare everyone's experiences and thoughts on the matter to get within bounds at least.

God bless

Sharky put it well... in the end, we can't stop you. You will do what you want to do. I can't really blame you since that's the only way I learned. The hard way.

And yes, I DID use the tools the devil laid out for me. That was my point. When you dive into that world, you many times don't realize trick from truth.

Good luck, and God bless.

Brothr Scott,

Thank you for the testimony. Allow me to share my learning which was much more routine. It was years after the Spirit revealed to me the Lordship of Jesus. Suddenly I wanted to know more about demons. I was a Sunday school teacher for junior and high school students. I felt so inadequate for not knowing how demons try to steal their minds. I searched the bible but did not find much about demons.

One day while I was preparing notes for Sunday school class, I fell asleep. In the dream I was given a bible verse. I woke up and looked up the verse in the bible. Basically, the message was that I was inadequate to have the knowledge. I lost much interest then.

Years have passed since then. Now I know a little more about demons. And I understand why the Lord said I was not prepared to have the knowledge.

One must learn about demons from the Holy Spirit. As one submits himself to the Lord, the Spirit reveals more about the enemy of the Lord. Only as much as his submission grows, he is given the knowledge of the enemy. I believe your experience also testifies loudly. It is the grace of God that he hides demons from us. As a father keeps his son home until he graduates from high school, he hides me from underworld activities until I become strong in his words and grace.

I cannot but sigh when I see books on demons flood Christian bookstores. Though the authors' intentions were genuine, why are they "going before the Lord" (as my good friend Cyberwood put it)? Can they teach better than the Holy Spirit? Or do they think the Holy Spirit teaches too slow? As you said, Scott, it is the flesh. If it is too strong a word, it is lack of wisdom.

My Dear Brother Amadeus,

The Holy Spirit will teach you everything you need to know. In fact, the Lord is looking for warriors like you. Be a strong warrior and help me when I am in trouble. Submit more and more everyday to the will of Jesus which is clearly manifested through the words of the bible. I only ask you not to learn from any man. Thank you.

I really hope that your intense desire to study this goes Amadeus. It is a very strong and magnetic thing. I feel sorry that you don't find being a christian exciting. Please do not enter into this, it is very dangerous. Jesus has already conquered satan, we don't have to do it for Him. I fear anything that could ruin my soul or my love for God, and I find it exciting to study about God and what will happen when we are with Him. I understand how magnetic the feeling and curiousity you have is, but I really do pray you will fight it. Try deeper study of Jesus, it can be exciting, the love that is put in your heart is exciting.

Bokushi, that's pastor in Japanese, Right? And in Anime. Are you, at 18, calling yourself a pastor?
What gives one the right, the ability to fight demons; to call oneself a demon hunter, and on who’s behalf? Your passion may not be a calling. You seem to be a writer, maybe you could use your self expressed creativity in another, and more helpful way? Even serve your community...witness by example.... Is this God’s calling or your own, with regard to “wowie pops, an bunnie wabbits”? Re-read the previous posts….I CONCUR WITH THEM ALL, ON EVERY POINT!!!!!!.  Seek and you will find…if you seek demons, you will find them, and may the Lord protect you! He gives us armor, when THEY come, we needn’t seek them; He gives us the SPIRIT of truth, if we will listen. Beware! Ego is also an opening for evil!
God Bless

I think that it is easy to fall into the traps of demons in everything we do. The point is, if we're to do this, a leash is needed which is bound to a solid foundation of the power of GOD. We can't always just "call" upon Him to fight evil, and quite frankly, i know a lot of disappointments will lead the way in the beginning. Our will doesn't always concur with the will of God, or others who are honestly trying to help, but that doesn't mean we're stupid.

I feel if we have experience and a VERY strong dependance on God, we can actually move mountains...like physically (and if it is the will of God, of course). Those strange physical manifestations (hauntings, poltergeists, possession, telekenesis...etc.) are caused by forces that are mostly unseen by the naked, fleshy human eye. This calling which i believe Bokushi and i have, is not to delve into this through espionage into the occult, but living out the prowess of the power and glory of God. I know of quite a few people who are able to withstand the intrigue of the darkness, while openly opposing it. If we run from it, we'll grow ignorant. If we attack it on its territory, it'll ambush us, but if we stand up against it, and kick bottom on our own territory, then bring it on.

Demons are running around with their tricks, impressing, and misleading potencial Christians, and that has got to stop.

A firm confession on what they are to those who seem subservient to "magic" is a good first step. Unless someone believes demons were psychological problems in the old days, or Jesus only spoke in a parable when he spoke of the division between the living and the dead.

Cheerio

God bless

No one is calling you guys stupid, poonyen. The only time that was mentioned was in post #17 by you. You said,"To look for trouble is stupid." And you are SO right, so please don't look for it! How can you fight demons if you don't find them, and how can you find them with out looking, or worse yet, drawing them to you? How do you know when you're facing one? How do you know what to do when do meet one? What makes you and Amadeus think you wield such power when even the apostles weren't always successful. You're obviously willing to risk your health and your sanity, but are you willing to bet your souls on your success? Yes, faith can move mountains, and I don't doubt your faith, and you know how I feel about this, or you need only go back to my first post to you. I admire your charisma and zeal, and I most certainly would rather have you with me than against me, but you won't be with me if you lose this "game". Both of you please look at all the words of caution above...do you think WE"RE foolish?

I'm not sure what you mean here? Don't some people STILL think psychological problems are demons, but if they are, how can they be defeated simply with a pill? I'm am begging you, BEGGING you to give this up, china! You are playing with fire, and if you do it long enough it will only be a matter of time until you get burned!!! PLEASE!!!! To both of you,...you and your souls are too important to risk losing.

God bless and protect you both!

Amadeus, if you're still reading this thread, I finally took a look at your website (as you encouraged in your first post). The first thing I noticed was your anger because noone was praising your 'efforts'. I'm wondering exactly what efforts you are talking about. If this is a true calling and ministry, why would you be seeking praise for your efforts? I have to question your motives, because if this is a ministry ordained by God, all the credit should be going to Him and not to you, regardless of what 'work' you have done. Even our best works are filthy rags in His sight, so to claim any credit is ridiculous. I can honestly say that I spent about one minute on your site because your tone was so combative I didn't want any part of it. Just know that Satan can and WILL use your anger and pride to knock you down. From what I saw, you are in no position to handle what you are getting yourself into.

devoted daughter makes a good point. How exactly is this 'warfare' supposed to happen? Everything I've seen so far has been vague and without plan. If the intent is to poke a stick at these demons while keeping your feet firmly planted in God, you are in for a rude awakening. Our God is a jealous God - you cannot serve two masters. Satan's will is for you to play in his yard, so if you insist on messing around with this, you are running the risk of 'serving' his will for you, not God's.

For some reason (and only God knows why) the truth regarding this subject is being hidden from you, Amadeus and indonesionpalmtree. Experience and wisdom can be dispensed until doomsday and it will make no difference until God opens your eyes. If you heed nothing from this thread, pray for God's wisdom in this matter and put yourself and your own desires on the back burner. Listen to what God is telling you. Ask for discernment to know when God is speaking to you. Remember that Satan disguises himself as an angel of light and will try to trick you into believing you are hearing God.

May God protect you both, indonesian and Amadeus.

Hi guys, poonyen and Amadeus...
I asked how you'd know that you were facing a demon, and as prepared as you feel, neither of you could anwser. I'm not an authority in this area, because I don't focus on it, or make it a part of my purpose or goal since He hasn't asked me, or feel He's prompted me to do the work of an angel...as I've said, what you focus on will become part of you. So with that in mind, how do you know you're facing a demon? I know!!!! There's a test!!!...but you should know that as "demon hunters" with God calling, right? I'm no demon hunter, but I know the test!!!... if I ever had to impliment it, I think I might have a stroke! LOL! I asked you both how you would know when you faced one, and neither of you could anwser! Yea,! me???? No way brothers!!!! This isn't a game! But if you are as armed as you think, why couldn't either of you anwser me? You would know this most SIMPLE identification if you were truly armed. I don't want to face a demon, but I feel protected, without fear, and I know the test. The fact is, you don't know how to distinguish the difference which is VITAL! There are 3 tests...but you obviously DON"T know....so how can you put yourselves at risk with the illusion of feeling armed, without anwsering that simple question? I know, but I DON'T want to go there!!!!!!!!! First, How did He personally CALL you to do this, Second...what are the 3 tests. IF SOMEONE COMES ON THIS TROLLING,DON"T GIVE THIS AWAY IF YOU KNOW! THEY SHOULD KNOW! When you give this up, china, I will tell you!
Your sister in Christ,
