Hi. I thought this might be a good place for me to come and share. I use to be a Christian. But then I feel away. I think became a Buddhist. No longer into Buddhism. I am longing to be with the Lord again, for him to be my savior. I just feel lost and confussed, I don't know where to start. I know that sounds silly, just feeling disconnected I guess you could say. I need prayers, as the journey is not any easy one. It is one on my own, no family memeber including husband is Christian, so it is like I am walking alone. I do not want to feel alone anymore, I know if I have Christ in my life, I will not be. There really is no question here...just a hand out reaching to him, but it does not seem just wanting it is working.

Dear Dianne,

I am praying for you....your story is very familiar to me. I left Christianity as a young woman, ran around for fifteen years as a new ager...but you know, I just really missed Jesus! I missed Him! I have been back eight years...it's a struggle, but carrying our cross is exactly that...and it is so very worth it! I just wanted to encourage you and to tell you that God's mercy is infinite. He missed you too!

;)
I'll be praying for you...let me know if there's anything I can do for you...I'm here A LOT...^_^
Love,

I missed him too. And so glad he missed me and never gave up on me. I will carry this cross, no matter what, it does get hard, espically since no one around me is Christian. But all I can do is pray and witness, and one day they too will find him. Would love to talk at any point if you want to pm me or email me

Hello Dear Dianna!

I do know how you mean. When I came back to Christ, I was about two thousand miles out to sea, for a very long time! ^_^ I had no one...this too, shall pass. And He is so faithful, He will bring just the right friends into your daily world.

Have you found a church you like? This might be a good way for you to make some regular contact with other Christians.

I know that feeling of lonlieness you're experiencing, but you're actually not as alone as you feel. It is us who choose to turn our backs on Jesus, he's always there waiting for us with his arms wide open. Whether you acknowledge it or not he's always there for you though, and he's so glad that you're choosing to get right with him again. You're right that just wanting it isn't enough, you have to be devoted to learning about God and making Him #1 in your life. It can be very hard at times but it will always be worth it in the end. I'm excited to hear that you're wanting to return to Christianity and I will be praying for you. Good Luck!

 Dianna, please take comfort in your search. In addition to God, all these replies show you are not alone. I too will pray for you. I had a search of my own in the past.

A couple of things I would like to say about your condensed quote here:

I personally believe that a person, once they are saved, cannot lose their salvation, no matter what we do or whether or not we feel saved. Here's how I would summarize it, based on Scripture:
What is saving faith? in salvation verses, the Greek for believe is "to trust in or rely upon". As in John 3:16, Acts 16:31: to trust in Christ's death on the cross to pay for all sins (I Peter 3:18) and to get us to Heaven one day without any good works of our own (Ephesians 2:8-9). In other words, "faith alone in Christ alone plus nothing". And we cannot lose our salvation (see gift in Rom. 6:23 and 11:29, also John 10:28-29 - we can't even take ourselves out of God's hand). Once we are saved, God punishes us when we do wrong, just as a good father would, but He would never cast us out of His family, no matter what we might do.

I am not sure, but the following might also deal with some confusion you are having:
Two common errors concerning the Gospel are:
1. Incorrect understanding of repentance in salvation verses - in those, the Greek meaning is "to change one's mind", not to be sorry for or to turn from sin (both good things to do once a person is saved)
2. "lordship salvation" - adding to Christ's work on the cross by thinkin that w need tobe good or promise to be good in order to be saved. Those things actually come after salvation IF the person is willing, and are called discipleship. The power to live a Christilike life comes from the Holy Spirit (who resides in all believers), and not from ourselves. A person can be a Christian without being a disciple, but cannot be a disciple without first having become a Christian.

Dianna, if you haven't already trusted in Christ to be your sinbearer, without any good works of your own, I pray that you would make that decision today. God is not "the author of confusion", and He will guide you into all truth, as you seek Him.
God bless you. I'll pray for you. If you have any more questions, I'd love to hear from you.

Aloha in Jesus.

You said you were once a Christian and then you fell away!? That's something that terrifies me!

"It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. Land that drinks in the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. But land that produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being cursed. In the end it will be burned."
(Hebrews 6:4-8)

I'm not sure how this applies because I fell away too and I just hope I'm not going to hell too! But I think if one can "repent" somehow then that's a sign that maybe the falling away wasn't too far, but I don't know.

[QUOTE from the previous poster: (my bold highlighting) "It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace. (Hebrews 6:4-8)

I have seen this verse used many times to point to loss of salvation. But it doesn't say brought back to salvation or eternal life. It says that it would be impossible to bring back to repentance those Christians who have fallen away.

Here's what the word "repentance" means when referring to salvation: in Greek it means a change of mind. The verse, therefore, implies that Christians changed their mind about Christianity and fell away; therefore, it would be impossible to change their mind back again. To repeat, it does not say they lose their salvation.

Hope this clears that up, it is a complicated verse, I admit. :)

You need to get someone to explain the basics of Christianity.

Christianity is not a religion, its a relationship with Christ, nothing more and nothing less.

You have to denounce your sinful life style, repent and surrender you whole life to His Lordship.

He loves you, but He is God, always remember that.

Once you have turned to Him, you need to get Christian friends to disciple you in how to walk as a Christian, and spend time reading the Epistles and the Gospels first. (The Bible)

The epistles will teach how to be a Christian.

The Gospels tell you what Christ have done for you. Once you have done this, the old testament will then become a real blessing to read.

Look for a church that is word based. This might not be so easy as it sounds all churches will tell you they are word based. Here you will need to pray earnestly, and trust God.

What does it mean to Carry Your Cross - isn't this a Roman Catholic thing like Mel Gibson's The Passion - where you get beaten to pulp then have to carry a Cross through the streets? This sounds like a guilt thing where punishment and getting really roughed up is some sort of catharsis and emotional release and then you have to drag this piece of wood around?

I have seen stuff on TV - where people get nailed to Crosses - I think in Philippines and start shouting all sorts of stuff - it seems to be some sort of ritual similar to the thing you are describing?

Why would you risk the blood loss and getting seriously scourged - I mean in the Passion they nearly killed him - the blood was running everywhere - how is that really worth it?
