Konevets Quartet will be in the area early Nov and are looking for a venue on the 6th. They will be in Columbia SC on the 5th and Macon on the 7th. AFAIK all they require is lodging. Any offerings (IIRC they support monastery work) are welcome but they do not require a pledge.

Neat. Maybe a certain parish might invite them to come and sing near downtown Atlanta..... (I emailed you know who...)
I wonder if the host parish could use this as a fundraising event....

Think they could stop by Valdosta on their way to Florida? This could be a good fundraiser for our mission here.

I don't see why not if they have an open date. If you can't get a response via the contact on their website, let me know, I have another email addr that we have been communicating with them.

    These guys are awesome !

Just returned from hosting them at our church. Had a decent turnout for a southern town and raised quite a bit for the monastery.

    I bought all three :)
It was great to hear our church 'sing'. Though in a way it is like lending your guitar to Jerry Garcia and to hear it in all it's glory, and then realize that in your hands it is just a toy.

BTW, we were told have the best acoustics so far on their tour :)

MAN. They were at my parish a couple of weeks ago and I didn't get the chance to see them. Is there a way to get their CDs online?

There are a few US links with a limited selection. They will be in Valdosta soon, so maybe you can arrange for a purchase via Spyridon. I didn't think to copy their itinerary, so I don't have the dates, places. If I think of it, I will email them and see if they have a US source.

    Oblio,

About how many were there in attendance, and were many of those in attendance not from your church?

I'm looking forward to hosting them this Saturday. Hopefully we will have a decent turnout.

I think we had about 60 total, probably half of which were visitors. Combination of friends & acquaintances, Baptist church members from down street, maybe a few from handbills posted here and there. We did no advertising other than WOM and flyers.

Being PC president and responsible for the hit or miss, I was a bit worried that it would come off, actually moreso than hosting say a wedding, but it all turned out great.
