I have recently been talking with a friend about religion and beliefs. While she is one who goes to church 2-4 times a week I don't go based on experiences I've had with local churches(mostly did not make guests feel welcome at all), but as I am a religious person otherwise I have decided to go to try out her church in the next week or two. While I go dust off my old bible from its safe resting place I was curious if there are any christian books out that would be worth looking into...anything from history to some guy talking to "experts"...I figured this group would have several recommendations and this seemed to be the proper place to post.

Thanks ahead of time for any suggestions,

Sanibak

p.s. excuse me if my post is a bit jumbled...I seem to be "blessed" with the ability to make simple things confusing for others, hehe.

You may want to check out books like:

Mere Christianity by C. S. Lewis
The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel
The Purpose Driven Life by Rick Warren

If you check the books out on Amazon, you can also search for related books.

SAnibak, I would really recommend these books also. God bless you!

Amazon.com is the best web site to buy stuff because it is less expensive(for some strange reason I hate the word cheap!!) Go on it and they will give you the books you need. God bless.

It depends what you want to look at...

For a personal bit of time and thought between you and God, then the Prupose Driven Life is excellent! If you would like to reflect a bit more on why you may find church difficult, then stuff like The Prodigal Project might be a good starter - but beware, as the first half can be quite full on and I don't want to open up cans of worms that might not be there!

There are many, many, good Christian books though I have not read the Left Behind books due to me reading the non-fiction books. But there are great and excellent books that are non-fiction that are devotionals and hope you all find the books that you want.
