Somebody had a signature line in here with a quote from Erasmus that was pretty cool. It went something like "First I buy books. With whatever is left, I buy food and clothing." I'm trying to find the exact quote, but I havn't found it just surfing through threads reading people's sigs.

Help, please!!

try google.....

sorry I have signatures disabled so can't help - happy hunting though.

That quote is on an amazon.com bookmark sent out with their books. I believe it goes this way:

'If I have a little money I buy books! If there is any left over I buy food and shelter.'

WOW you use Think Exist too!!! I love that site!! It is incredible when you're writing a paper and want some obscure quote to prove your point! I found it and I've used it so many times since!
I wish the source feature were currently working. I'd certainly like to know the context of this quote:
No man is excluded from calling upon God, the gate of salvation is set open unto all men: neither is there any other thing which keepeth us back from entering in, save only our own unbelief. (John Calvin)
This appears quite contradictory to Calvin's thoughts on particular redemption.

Found it. It's from his commentary on Acts 2:21. Calvin seems to be referring here to the indefinite offer of the Gospel, i.e. "whosoever will, let him take of the water of life freely" (Rev. 22:17). And, of course, those who will take of the water of life are the elect, as Calvin says, our unbelief keeps us from ever being saved.

Nevertheless, this still seems pretty infralapsarian. Maybe Calvin was one.
