Hello everyone,
I'm looking for a good church around me. I just recently moved to the area I am living in now ( < 1 year) and have had a difficult time finding a good church. Doea anyone have any recommendations?
I live in the South Bay area, around Santa clara, Sunnyvale, Cupertino area.
I'm more or less non-denominational although I have been mostly going to Baptist churches. I'm a 26 year old female. I've had difficulties in finding churches because I've had disagreements with the way some pastors dealt with the congregation, their ideologies, and because certain communities were not open to new people even with my attempts at socializing. I know that going without a strong support system as a Christian is extremely difficult to maintain. I'm looking for a church that is based on the Word of God, a church that firmly believes in Jesus Christ as our Savior, and a church that is not politically conservative.

If anyone can help me find a church I would very much appreciate it. Thank you!

I would say that politically the Bible is more "conservative", than otherwise. But it may not be conservative the way certain people are claiming is Christian. The Bible morals are definitely conservative, but the political candidates conservative "might" not be Biblical.

So, you may need to bear with how Bible churches can have politically conservative members. But the ones making a show in your face "might" not represent the Biblically conservative ones who are humble and maybe out of sight, "doing the real ministry, while show and tell people are trying to control the world." >

"nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock." (1 Peter 5:3)

Most of all, I would say, we need to find the mature senior couples who are caring for God's people. These couples might not be up front in the pulpit. And feed on their example. Do not judge a church by the younger and immature ones who might be in your face with their stuff, but be a growing and maturing example so you can reach them, having hope for them >

"with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love," (Ephesians 4:2)

By being a growing example of this, you will become able to discover and connect with whoever the real examples are, whichever church they are in :) However, if you judge by the standards which you are now able to have, your present ability to evaluate "might" limit your ability to find the really Christian people. Because while we are younger in Jesus, our standards are younger and more likely to be mistaken.

So, I need to pray for God to guide me according to what He knows; and I so need His correction of my character so I become honest and humble so I can connect with His really Christian leaders > Hebrews 12:4-11, Hebrews 13:17.
