God already filled the big viod of loneliness, but I want some company other than my cat if you catch my drift.

My room mates are both out to sea, and most of my other friends are busy with college or something.

I'm the only one here in town. Even my folks are gone outta state for awhile.

BORING.....

Yes I would like cheese with my wine, hehe

Whoa now, I live in a two bedroom home with my cat and I'm alone all the time too! There is nothing wrong with that! :p

Anyways, I'm in a similar situation as you, but, I decided to use this time alone to develop my relationship with God and it has been a rewarding experience. I'm sure in time your life will take off again and when it does, you may never have this much free time to just spend it with the lord. So while you wait for friends and that special someone, be sure to take advantage of this moment and make the best out of it.

Also, do you attend church?

If you still feel lonely you can always send me a PM or chat with the fine folks in the chat box. In anycase I'll pray for you.

Take care and God bless!

EDIT: btw, I'm a car nut too. :D

Hi Pennyless!

I am sorry you feel lonely. You know, sometimes we can be in a room full of people and still be lonely. Being a bit of an introvert, I know how that feels.

I would echo Grommit's question of church involvement. There are usually plenty of groups in a church that could use help and that would give you something to do with the time on your hands. Or perhaps volunteering within your community. What are some interests you have? Maybe those are where you can look to get involved. That's how I tend to get over the lonlies. I work with others, giving my time to help out others. Plus, I am sure there are many on here who would be willing to chat and talk with you and be your friend. My PM box is open if you ever need a friend. :)

Just some suggestions off the top of my head. Let us know how you are doing!

Well here is problem too, the fast car's cuase me my License. So right now I'm on a suspended for 6 months. A lesson learned the hard way trust me.

Otherwise I would be volunteering my time as a Big Brother for the Big Brothers Big Sisters of America program.

And I don't really have any transportation other than my good old mom, however there is a church within walking distance I am considering looking into to.

Right now I dont' go to church becuase me and the person I was with split up and her church I went to her with was in Newport News, thats on the other side of the chesapeke bay and I live in Virginia Beach, so its not pratical, and never was but still.

The only thing is this church by me is a Methodist church, I dunno what that is, but I thought I'd go look.

And to answer katej1's question, I drove (lol) a 2001 Mustang GT convert and 87 IROC-Z Camaro.

Dude, from one car fan to another, feel free to PM me anytime you want. I can understand just how you feel because I'm feeling it as well. Seems like all the decent women around my town are either married, or otherwise taken. What all do you have done to your IROC? My dad used to have a 3rd gen Z28 with a whole bunch of mods. That thing was BAAAAD.

I think girls often feel the same way about guys! Seems like they are all engaged  ...oh well...anyway i know how you feel. i am a grad student and i flew through undergrad practically, so I didn't exactly have alot of time for socializing, although I did date some. My friends have gone their separate ways and now it's kind of lonely. Church hasn't proven to be a good way to meet good guys, unfortunately! least not at my church. If you are in school, try to get involved with some Christian clubs on campus, go hang out at the local coffee shop or something...you just might meet some other Christians studying or what not, or maybe you could hold a barbeque in your neighborhood, if it's safe enough to do so, and um not too cold! Something like that! Hope things get better for you

YEP, that’s what I’m saying too, get involved in things with your church. Once I got real lonely and went out seven days a week being involved and that took care of any loneliness. I even went to seminary and had a blast with that.

No ride? Awwww I’ve known lots of people w/o transportation. If you were in my area and going in the same direction I’d take you along (as I have done for many people) and I’m sure there are people at your church that will give you a ride to things they are involved with. And maybe after you get your ride back you can return the favor for them. And if you can’t find enough to do around your church (hard to believe nothing to do) then hang out at your nearest Christian coffee shop (any Christian gathering place) because lots of things start from there.

Start going to Churches when available during week nights, and bars to witness on other nights. After a bit of that you might just feel less lonely.

I'm reading an awesome book right now titled "Single and Loving It". It took me a long time to be content with my singleness. When I rededicated my life to Christ I went from having something to do every night of the week to sitting at home and reading. At first it was difficult. I found myself tempted to go back to (bad) old habits such as bar-hopping, spending countless hours on the internet, and dating any guy who'd ask me out. All of my "friends" were lost and since I became a "Jesus Freak" again they ran far far away.

When I left my parents' house to get my own apartment I had everything I needed to set up house, except a television set. I've spent the last five months without the entertainment of a television set. Scary huh? Sadly I can't have a pet because I can't afford the pet deposit. You know what I did? I bought books, I learned how to cook, I listened to music, I wrote short stories. I took my energy and poured it into a new hobby. I learned graphic design in a week. I know how to make a killer meatloaf. I've read the entire first five books in the Harry Potter series (I know, I know LOL). My entire CD collection is in alphabetical order. When I get *super bored* and I have to get out, I take one of my newest Christian books and head to Starbucks. Sometimes you'll meet some really neat people there. Sometimes the book you're reading will act not only as an icebreaker, bu can also be an effective, non-evasive witnessing tool.

Just remember what God's Word says. He's always with us, even to the end of the age. No matter where we go God is with us. Use times of boredom to talk to God. Start a journal. Take up a new hobby. Pray to God for Him to provide you with Christian friends and to supply you with wisdom as to where He'd have you to serve. I know it's hard to wait, but if we wait on God's perfect timing we will reap the rewards of patiently waiting for His will to be done, instead of our own.

God bless you. If you need someone to talk to drop me a message. I know how it can be.
