The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.
If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.
If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
Loneliness

I totally understand how you feel. I've suffered from depression for years and this is how I feel most of the time. I can be surrounded by people yet I continue to feel lonely. I can be surrounded by friends and family yet I feel like nobody cares about me. I constantly find myself feeling alone in this world.
I guess part of the reason why I felt this way is because subconsciously I have depended on people to make me happy, but people always end up letting me down. But I supposed I shouldn't be surprised by this, given that humans are such flawed creatures, and they will always let me down eventually.
I guess the only way to overcome my loneliness is to strengthen my faith in God and just rely on God alone, because I doubt anybody in this world cares about me except God, so I might as well just focus all my energy on serving God and not place too much faith in my fellow humans...

Okay, here goes....
My problem isn't quite that. But without going into gross amounts of details, the number of people who even go so far as to pay attention to me anymore, in my opinion, has gone downhill.
It could be that I chased people away, but really, my better theory is that some things were said about me behind my back.

I have about zero friends atm, apart from family members.
That's because I used to work in different countries and move often so I got friends in many countries but after a long time of not seeing them, they have probably moved on from our friendship.
I even work at home nowadays being self-employed/freelance so I seldom get out of the house anymore.
Nowadays, I get inspiration from personal Bible study and good music. Sometimes even my work, some hobbies, watching movies with parents. It helps a lot that I actually forget about my loneliness completely and even feel happy and content!
