Lord I pray this morning for the families of the victims caught up in the bomb blasts in London. Lord help them, as they face another day of the media. We know these people will not be able to mourn the dead in peace as every where they turn there will be footage of yesterdays disaster.
Lord I ask you to watch over the people of London, as they try to come to terms with the devistation.
Please Lord be with those people who are helping with the clear up, Lord these people have to endure so much. The police and the firefighters, finding the bodies of the dead and injured. Lord give them strength to carry on.
Lord I will never understand why things like this happen, why innocent people of any culture must die. Please Lord be with us today as we try to come to terms with whats happened, keep us safe oh Lord and watch over us. I ask this in your most beautiful name Lord, your one and only son Jesus, AMEN

Well, it's morning now....people are being positive and trying to get on with their lives.

There are searches being carried out for clues, bodies that haven't been recovered yet, and although it was horrific, I thank God that it wasn't worse than it was.

Things could have been SO much worse and crippling on our country.

I really want to praise out country for holding together and not panicking.

When I think about 9/11, our attack was nothing compared to that, but I hope that people, myself included, will understand how the americans felt, and how important it is to have God on our side.

I thank God that no more people were hurt and my heart felt sympathy goes out to the people that did lose somebody in the London Blasts.

Despite all that has happened, God will use it for His purposes! This is a time when people in the UK will reflect seriously on what has happened. This is the time for the UK Churches to show people the true meaning of knowing God. Some may harden their hearts further, but many will be open to the truth!
Let us pray for this nation, especially for those who have lost family, friends and loved ones, and seek God's wisdom as to how to reach out to the people in a time like this!

50 dead now. Charles Clarke, Home Secretary said...

"That's not about Iraq or any other particular foreign policy issue, it's about a fundamentalist attack on the way we live our lives."

Mr Clarke said the prime issue a day after the terror attacks, which claimed more than 50 lives and left another 700 injured was to catch the bombers because of the danger they might carry out more attacks.

He said it was very possible the bombings were the work of Islamic extremists but added "no hypothesis has been ruled out or confirmed" including Irish terrorism.

Amen indeed :amen:

Yesterday my Finacee' and myself went to our 3rd Marriage Prep with our minister. He said a prayer after we had finished our session praying for us that while we were embarking on a God given beautiful thing, there were many marriages and familes that have been utterly destroyed. I looked my fiancee with more love and concern than I thought possible. I wondered how many people in London yesterday morning said goodbye to their loved ones as they went to work or on their daily business totally unprepared for the devestation they would face later on that day when their loved ones were not coming back.....ever. How many unsaid words were left to be said, how many guestures of love were left undone. How many people yesterday maybe just wanted to hug their loved ones one more time and yet will never again be able to.

I love my wife to be and I hug her a lot. To never be able to do that again is more than I can bear.

It breaks my heart just thinking about it. Our prayers must be with these people today and for all people in this situation. This is the work of evil at its most devestating, whether it is in London, New York or Baghdad - it is all still evil.

Jesus taught us to love one another - I think that simple message is so relevant to today as it ever was. I pray for all the familes and people still sufferring in London. God wants us to love not to kill. How beautiful and simple a concept.

I'll just paste here what I just typed @ BBC:-

"I must encourage all readers by commending the great Eastend spirit I met in my 3 months in Whitechapel, Tower Hamlets & Stepney, in the "Winter of Discontent" - Jan/Mar '79, right after the Brick Lane riots

"My mission, supervised by much loved Patrick Sookhdeo, was to befriend Muslims, as an evangelical Christian, & I know many will be encouraged to know that such reconciliation projects have always gone on & always will"

If I was in easy reach of London now, I'd gladly go to St James' Park for Sunday's 60th anniversary V45 celebration

Our regular 7/8am prayer party began with our in-sequence chapter of the day today: Psalm 40

Led by the cockney "Pastor Pete" now known UK-wide as "God's Estate Agent" - on both UCB & Premier since Feb's "Unsung Heroes" - whose friends & family were all safe yesterday, even tho' some work very near Aldgate station

We prayed for all Londoners, & for all affected by media coverage, in terms of that great Psalm

& especially for all deceived by terrorist recruiters - that they too will be, "lifted out of the mud & mire & set their feet upon the Rock of Christ"

Special greetings to Tower Hamlets Mission & the nearby fine teaching hospital that'll have trained so many of our fine medical folk

God bless!

Psalm 23 verse 4: "Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me."

Luke 12 verses 4 and 5: "And I say unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him."

Matthew 10 verse 28 "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell."

James 4 verses 13 and 14 "Go to now, ye that say, To day or to morrow we will go into such a city, and continue there a year, and buy and sell, and get gain. Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away."

Are you prepared to meet your Maker?
