I think we must love the evildoer, and pray for them. That is the teaching of Jesus.

These quotes refer to your own enemies, as in one who smites your own cheek. Christ forgave HIS enemies, and died for the sake of sinners, the greatest act of forgiveness and redemption of others. I forgive my own enemies and those who attack me, but that does not mean I cannot stand up and refute them.


Jesus did not hug the money lenders to Him and spared no rebuke for those who would hurt little children. Forgive, but see clearly. Pray for your enemies, but protect the innocent from all evildoers. Forgive your enemies means exactly that: Forgive YOUR enemies. And even then, you must protect yourself and your children however you must.

This may seem a cruel thing to ask in the wake of this terrible event, but what course will the nation take? Will the majority of her citizens continue to oppose the war on terrorism for the sake of "unity" with their fellow Europeans or will they step out and take a stand against the scourge of international terrorism, despite its unpopularity in the world? Spain chose to surrender to the murderers who killed nearly 200 of her people. My personal hope is that the English, with whom my nation's people share a common history, heritage, language, religion, and culture, will defy "world opinion" and stand behind their government and encourage it to stay the course they've undertaken for the past 4 years.

It's so horrible, and I have no doubt that is devastated, and this is certainly the kind of thing which makes one feel older than ones years.

I wonder if we'll be given an opportunity to express our support and offer our condolences? I hope so. I want to do that so very much, but I live in the U.S. and am such a long way away.

I'm sure we had books of condolense for 9/11 so maybe the same thing will be offered over there in support of London. I think that praying is all the support that can be offered right now and if we all pray then something will happen!!! Maybe we could set up a time on CF where we can all pray at the same time??? Central London streets closed since the bombing are reopening. The NHS has done a wonderful job, and only one victim has died in hopsital so far, taking the official death toll to 38.

And a sincere thanks from an England based poster for all the support offered on thjis forum today to this my adopted country.
