Hi from London --

I'm staying here with my husband for the summer while he studies at a law course. Our dorm is one of the University of London halls, right on Tavistock Square where one of the busses exploded. Fortunately we had left the hall about 45 minutes before the explosion took place on the other side of the square, although as we rode the Tube in this morning (about 8:10) something had already happened at King's Cross as there were annoucements about the Piccadilly Line having problems between there and the eastern end of the line.

Right now we're told to stay here at the school building (just off Trafalgar Square) as the area around the dorm (Tavistock Square) is cordoned off and we can't get in.

But all the law students seem to be safe and hopefully the casualties are minimal -- hard to say right now since the authorities are not willing to give out numbers at this time.

Thanks for your prayers, everyone...

Oh no, I heard that, it wasn't confirmed though they made it sound likely as reported to them by a source.
The BBC is being really conservative and not saying how many may have died -- I think there's some measure of panic control going on.

I wonder if Blair's feeling responsible.
an unecessary comment

those that left the bombs are to blame and no doubt are celebrating what they will view as a success.

Like us, I expect he is feeling appaulled and revolted by these acts and their devastation of lives and our capital
