Name: Lodekai
Race: Human, mutated by Ignatius experimentation.
Gender: Male
Age: Actual age is unknown. Apparent age is mid-twenties.
Appearance: Lodekai has two distinct forms. The first is that of a human male. He is tall, just over six feet, with a lean, muscular look about him, more like a runner than a warrior. He always wears dark clothing, mostly blacks, though he will occasionally spice up his dark appearance with a splash of color on something small...such as a red cravat or possibly a dark purple pattern on his waistcoat. His hair is black as pitch and cut short, though some strands occasionally hang upon his forehead. He is well-groomed without facial hair, his skin somewhat pale, but not sickly. His eyes have sometimes been described as haunting, a brown so dark that it is almost indistinguishable from his pupils. And in his human form, Lodekai is dashingly handsome, with a charming smile and confident air, strong jaw and noble brow. His attractiveness, charm, and distinguished presence capture the attention of many.
His other form is rarely seen, his appearance more demonic than anything. His skin becomes blood red, his veins stand out black against the crimson, making him look as if he is covered in black spider webs, and his eyes turn yellow, glowing like fire. His feet become clawed like a bird's and his fingers have retractable talons, his K-9 teeth elongating into fangs. He has black, batlike wings that extend from his back and his strength is increased three-fold that of a normal man. He rarely uses this form, however, as changing to that particular appearance also alters his mind, making him more savage when he prefers to remain in control and aware.
Personality: It is difficult to describe Lodekai's personality as it can change depending upon his circumstances. At times, he can be cruel, dark, hateful and even evil. At others, he can be twisted and manipulative, sneaky and secretive. And at still others, he can be charming and likeable, smooth and confident, and, with the ladies, even seductive. He is incredibly intelligent and loves to play with people's minds, influencing them to do exactly as he wants without threats or violence. Simply...manipulation. He has a love/hate relationship with the human race, despising them most of the time and yet equally fascinated by them, eager to learn what he can about individuals in order to best attain his goals by playing upon their fears and weaknesses, dreams and desires. He is a master of trickery and can use most situations to his advantage in some way.
History: Not much is known about Lodekai before he was captured and sold to a group of physicians involved in an experiment known as The Ignatius Project. No one really knows how Ignatius was discovered, but the mineral was found to have strange effects on the human body and it was these effects that the physicians wished to experiment with. There were others besides Lodekai, but they did not survive their experimentation. Lodekai was exposed to Ignatius in many different forms. Though it is a mineral, it could be ground into fine powder and then inhaled or made into other forms such as a paste for rubbing on the skin or perhaps dissolved into a liquid for consumption or injection, all of which were ways Lodekai was exposed, quite a lot more than once. And when his body showed signs of change? He was tortured mercilessly with endless tests and surgeries, his mind altered not only from Ignatius but from the agony he was subjected to.
Eventually, however, the more he was exposed to Ignatius, the more deadly he became until finally, his mind snapped and, in his second form which was already unstable in regards to mental capacity, Lodekai broke free from his cell where he was kept and stole some of the Ignatius mineral that had been used to change him into the creature he had become. Once he had it in his possession, he then proceeded to use it on every physician and scientist within The Ignatius Project out of a desire to bestow upon them the cruelty and suffering he had endured. These men, and some women, having lost their memories from the effects of Ignatius, became the first of the Ignatius Children, creatures similar to Lodekai and yet not as powerful or as he. Lodekai governs these creatures as their leader and seeks to add to their numbers in an attempt to amass an army of followers, using any means he can to lure willing humans into his grasp, his sights now on the whole of Adherin for allowing the atrocity of The Ignatius Project to occur.
