Has anyone watch live action asian dramas adapted from manga like hana kimi, boys over flowers, etc? or any T.V. asian dramas like My boss My hero, You re beautiful, etc?
I heard rumors that they are making rurouni kenshin in to a movie!! I think they already picked out an actor! Also Skip Beat into a T.V. series!
What do you think?

I saw Shinobi: Heart Under Blade which is based off the same novel as Basilisk while the movie was alright but it's very different from the anime/manga, the only other thing like that I have seen was that awful live action Gundam movie they made years ago G-Saviour.

I haven't watched many, but I did enjoy Zettai Kareshi (Absolute Boyfriend) and the drama Sapuri.
Both were very sweet, though Zettai Kareshi was a bit...odd.

I havent seen Shinobi but I have seen Zettai Kareshi. And I liked how they changed the age range HS(from the manga) from Working adult(the drama). It makes way more sense to have a robot BF during the 20s. I have not seen the whole drama. I think I am up to ep. 6 I dont think I have heard about Sapuri...

I watched a One Shot live action episode of The Skullman and I enjoyed it a lot. It is like a darker version of Kamen Rider which really made me do a two thumbs up.

Nothing wrong with making some changes as long as they keep the spirit of the show.
I also saw the Dragonball movie which I thought was about as good as the tv show of course you got to keep in mind I hated the tv series with a passion. You can't expect anything more then a garbage live action movie when your basing it off of a garbage anime.

Live action is the worst thing that has ever plauged the anime scene.. There are some rare gems that are actually , and suprisingly, good. However... After the "Dragonball" fiasco and the Mobile Suit Gundam accident I would rather hope that the Ruroken flick is never finished.

I dont mind live action interpretations at all, but there are very very few that I have enjoyed.

All in all, I think making movies is something Japan doesn't do too well with. Choppy editing, really awful writing, and generally bad acting everywhere. That's why the only good Japanese movies are the one's that are made to be cheesy and never take themselves too seriously.
