i'd assume that on a laptop or similar you can switch it off to preserve battery?

The keyboards should work with any modern computer, the One I've got (The older version) connects to the computer via the USB port.

I use the Logitech G11 as well. I bought it because it was cheap for a gaming keyboard, but more importantly, Logitech is reliable. It costs between $50 - $60.
Comfort factor... it's pretty decent. I like it and can use it for long hours without stressing my hands.

That's a reasonable price....i wouldn't get it for games....so i can use it just as a regular keyboard, right?

Cool! I'm gonna look into getting one. My keyboard i have now is a bit damaged....i dropped it and now the left control button is gone and it's a bit off-kilter.....
since i'm gonna get a new one anyway, i'm lookin for a lighted keyboard.....and the Logitech G11 sounds perfect...
