Why does Christ want Christians to be either hot or cold? "Because if they were either cold or hot, they would be useful to Him. Lukewarm Christians send confusing messages. In this state, being useless to Him, He spews them out of His mouth. Metaphorically, what does lukewarmness signify here? To define it to this point, a rough definition might be 'that which gives no refreshment, or that which has neither the cleansing properties of hot water nor the refreshing properties of cold.'" I said that?Question: Why should God have to intervene supernaturally to bring about His purpose and plan?
Answer: The Bible does not say nor suggest God must intervene, it says He does intervene.
That is a metaphorical description of why lukewarm is bad. It does not tell us what Christ considers lukewarm. We all agree being lukewarm is a bad thing, it is just that there is no relationship between what Christ calls lukewarm and what you are trying to condemn about us.Van said:Since this view is widely accepted, to say that I used it "out of context" is without merit. An unstated position is lukewarm, providing no benefit. Why does Christ want Christians to be either hot or cold? "Because if they were either cold or hot, they would be useful to Him. Does God intervene to bring about His purpose and plan supernaturally? Of course. Did God intervene supernaturally to bring the universe into existence? I think so. Did God intervene supernaturally to bring life into existence? I think so. Did God intervene to create us with the capacity to handle abstract thought? I think so.
Then do you agree that God could have caused the creation of life to happen entirely naturally, and moreover that this would not in the slightest way jeopardize His claim and authority as the creator of life?I think nothing is impossible with God, the issue is what He did, not what He might have done.
Not true, there is much benefit to be gained from Jesus's 'unstated' position in Matt 24 on 'the day and hour', or would you accuse Jesus of being lukewarm? An unstated position is lukewarm, providing no benefit.
Or the whole "let's wait and see until the harvest" position in the Parable of the Wheat and Tares. Why, you'd think God couldn't make up His mind! Not true, there is much benefit to be gained from Jesus's 'unstated' position in Matt 24 on 'the day and hour', or would you accuse Jesus of being lukewarm?
And our clearly stated position is that only God knows whether He instated the universe and life miraculously or naturally. That hasn't stopped you from hounding us so far, though. Why the double standard?Christ's clearly stated position was that only God knew when Christ would return.

LOL. Jesus said only the Father knows. Folks here we have Van going in for some kind of modalism it appears. This time he uses heresy to prop up his twisting and misquoting of scripture.Folks God did not say only God knows! Let me repeat that. God did not say only God knows. Those details are not in scripture.
Mallon, apparently ascribing Prophet to his list of qualifications, says God said no one knows whether I did it supernaturally or naturally.
Folks, pay no attention to the constant disparagement tossed my way, along with misrepresentations.
Yet another example of reading difficulty.
And one think[sic] more... Do you remember to topic.[sic]
I am not "hounding" anyone.
