I've posted this before, but I think it's a great thread to help remind us to try and do the right thing.

A lot of people don't believe that statement, especially the unbeliever.
But it's true.

What's easier? Smoking, or not? No brainer

What's easier? Eating healthy, or not? No brainer

What's easier? Sleeping around with different partners, or keeping it in your pants, or keeping it between you and your spouse?

What's easier? Working out on a regular bases, or not? No brainer

What's easier? Life with drugs, or a life without drugs?

Now temptation can be hard, for some it may seem impossible, but the price you pay for sin is far more than you will ever want to pay.
So keep trying to kill that Goliath, and eventually you'll find the right stone for the job.

Get your act together so you can be used as a vessel for honor, rather than a vessel for dishonor.

I think the devil suggests that being righteous is hard and that there is some great struggle we have to endure against the flesh.
If we believe it, we will have it.
But if we believe what the word says, our faith overcomes the world.
One of the worst teachings in the church today is that we are still sinners and that we cannot help but sin a little every day.
A lie of the devil.

I think the biggest problem that people have when facing temptation, is the fact that they try to do it on their own.

Some things you can do it on your own, just you and God.
But some temptations/addictions, you need the help of God and mature believers.

Now some will argue that all you need is God, but what you can't argue is it is easier to overcome problems with fellow believers than it is to try and do it with just you and God.

God + Mature Believers + You = a winning team. That's the family of God, and that's what it's all about.

Don't believe me? Then take your sin and go to your pastors house, you'll be amazed at how the temptation is no longer there......unless your temptation is to have sex with the pastor. :/

I ate pop tarts this morning. Yummy yummy SIN!

What's easier? Working out on a regular bases, or not? No brainer

Not working out is sinful? That must be in ChuckNorris 3:16.

Now temptation can be hard,

Now wait a second, you just asked which is easier and went with what you thought was easier. I like the idea of going with the easiest, which is how I get myself in trouble.

To those who are sin centered...this might help to understand what keeps the vicious cycle going..

That's why grace is the answer.!!:clap:

Romans 8:1-2
Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus,2because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.

The more people try in their own strength to overcome, the worse it gets..:o

See verses below...

7What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."8But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead. 9Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died. 10I found that the very commandment that was intended to bring life actually brought death.

Romans 3:20
Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law; rather, through the law we become conscious of sin.

Romans 5:13
for before the law was given, sin was in the world. But sin is not taken into account when there is no law.

Romans 5:20
The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more,
Romans 7:5
For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death.
Romans 7:7
[ Struggling With Sin ] What shall we say, then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! Indeed I would not have known what sin was except through the law. For I would not have known what coveting really was if the law had not said, "Do not covet."
Romans 7:8
But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire. For apart from law, sin is dead.
Romans 7:9
Once I was alive apart from law; but when the commandment came, sin sprang to life and I died.

1 Corinthians 15:56
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law

I think it all comes down to that verse "resist the devil and he will flee from you". An then I noticed it as your signature, after I'd pressed the quote buttom:)

Are you saying then that its great to sin, "feel free, it doesnt matter because God by his grace will forgive you, in fact sin as much as you can so that grace can abound"?

I think you have actually used this scripture out of context a bit.

Oh well, I guess the biggest sin is when the Holy Spirit speak to you not to smoke, drink, do drugs, to sleep around and to overeat, and then you feel convicted and you do nothing about it. What is that sin, when we ignore the Holy Spirit?

Be blessed in Jesus' Name.

Some of these posts make me very sad, because some of you will learn the hard way.
Some of you are heading down a road that you will utterly regret later on in life.

Why make your life so hard??? Do you have any idea of how much pain you are about to recieve as the years go by.

The bible describes hell as a place of weeping and nashing of teeth.
And that is exactly what you are going to experience here on earth.
Pain upon pain upon pain.

I believe you'll go to heaven because you believe in Jesus, but you will experience a form of hell before you get there.

You have a twisted view of what is and is not sin.

And if those things were really easier, then everyone would do them. People are like water, they take the path of least resistance.

And "more easier" is a redundancy.

When I say easier and more fun, I'm talking about the whole picture.

Sure temptation can be very tough/hard to go through, but it's a lot easier to suffer that feeling than the feelings that will follow sin.

And temptation isn't that hard when you team up with fellow believers who are trying to resist the same thing.
You hold each other up, you give each other strength.

A pop tart by itself isn't sin, but if you habitually have poor eating habits, you'll suffer for it.
