Ooh, so close to greatness, at least as I measure it. Unfortunately Strontium 90 goes to Ytrium and then Zirconium, and all of the decays in that short path are beta, which have about a 1cm penetration ability in the body, and wont make it to the xray film. Also if they somehow did the xray would be reversed, with the skeleton dark and the rest of the body light.

On the bright side, zirconium has some diamond like qualities, so I do look forward to my adamantium-like skeleton.

It was a joke.

In some cases there's overlap lol.

For instance, for a 60's night, a person who was born in 61 would be 60 right now, so whether you're playing music that a 60 year old would like, or simply music that was popular in the 60's, you'd be right either way.

It was just lucky that my wife (girlfriend at the time) and I were living together. Otherwise everyone at the party would have been dressed in hippy gear and flares and I would have turned up in an old cardigan and slippers.

We had an "80s day" in my company just before I retired, and I had everything necessary to dress as "Sonny Crockett" right there in my closet.

From what my Grandparents told me of the 1950s, I imagine it was a pretty cool time. In the 50s my mom's dad worked furnaces and my dad's father worked on the St Lawrence seaway. (A bridge allowing travel from the US to Canada in our area. It no longer exists) moms dad helped with the seaway too but he didn't play as big of a role. My grandfather was a draftsman.

Dont forget in the 50s too the war was over and everybody had elevated morales. Or am I wrong and we fought a war in the 50s after wwII?
Working the *cough* furnaces is your idea of fun? And there was that Korea thingy….. and polio…

Pretty good time for White folk. Good public schools. Good covers of Negro music. Smoking was *cough* allowed everywhere.

I think, like any period of history there were good parts and bad parts. The 50's were certainly not good for everyone.

That goes for anytime in history. I think people look back and like the strong points of the 50s and ignore the weak points. There are things I would love to go back to regarding the 50s while at the same time reject or do away with the other things that are distasteful about the time.

Going back to the 50s doesn't mean we would embrace everything about the 50s.
Time travel is not a buffet.

Little known medical secret: Boomers have so much radioactive Strontium 90 in our bones from surface and atmospheric nuclear bomb testing (even one space test) that when we get X-rays, the technicians don't actually turn on the machine. They just make a noise with their mouths.
In the 80’s I had a house with a real bomb shelter.

Early 80’s RX-7 for me.
There's a rumor of an RX-9. I drool, but it remains a rumor.

I had a light coloured jacket as well. And may God forgive me...I used to roll the sleeves up...

A friend owned one and never left his driveway in it without his toolbox

Well, those were the days when you opened the bonnet (sorry, hood) and there was the block, the carbs, the distributer and the starter motor (batteries - 2 x 6V were out the back). I could swap an engine and gearbox in a day. I was always fixing something every weekend. Nowdays I have no idea what I'm even looking at. We've had our latest car for over 4 months and I swear I haven't popped the hood yet.

The only thing I wish I could do in the 1950s is be an audience member in the Jackie Gleason show.. more specifically being able to watch one of the Honeymooner episodes live.
You made a point often overlooked. This was the first real decade of TV and most people remember the 50's based upon the shows they watched, the fantasy lifestyle presented, and of course the entertainment of the arts... all distractions from real life. Might very well have been the birth of delusion that mutated into divisiveness.

Thankfully being in the seventies then wouldn't relate to the seventies although the deterioration in physical and mental health might relate to disco.

Yeah, Gutenburg has a lot to answer for as well.

Yeah, Gutenburg has a lot to answer for as well.
Possibly but at least both gave choice. One opened up life to the masses and we could choose to burn at the stake or not, while the latter had learned how to control life but we had the choice to turn it off.
