Life in outter Space?

Here I go again, asking stupid questions, but I kindda was wondering about this one. (I know, the only stupid question is the one that's never asked.)

So, I was reading John Chapter 10, when I found this in verse 16:

"I have other sheep that are not of this sheep pen. I must bring them also. They too will listen to my voice, and there shall be one flock and one shepherd."

Now, I think Jesus means the non-Jewish people in the world, but I also think it might mean life on other planets.

Just for the sake of it, what do you think? Could God have created another planet with people on it?

Ever see the movie "Contact"? At the end of the movie, the lady is showing a bunch of kids the big antenas (sp?) and telling how they use them to listen to the sounds in space. She asks them, "Is there life on other planets?" and one of boys shrugs and says, "I don't know." She smiles and says, "That's a good answer. We don't know. But to me, it seems like it would be an aweful waste of space if there wasn't"

I kindda think she's right. I mean think about it. God never wastes anything, so why would he waste so much space?

There are no people on other planets.

1. All living beings came from Eve, who the bible says was named as "Eve" because she was "the mother of all living".

2. Israel is the exhaustive type of the church. Israel represents the totality of the church, the totality of the Body of Christ.

3. Christ after he arose, ascended to the right hand of the Father eternally. He did not go off to another planet to die for them also.

4. The scripture tells us that upon Christ's return to earth, the entire universe will be dissolved (2 Pet 3,8-10, Heb 12:27,27).

5. In Revelation you will find a verse concerning the end and the judgement to the effect that "the sea gave up its dead, the earth gave up its dead etc". There is no "and the other planets gave up their dead". In line with this, you will note that there has not been even one individual lost in space (out of the gravitational pull of the earth). All have fallen to earth. No-one was lost on Apollo 13, no-one on the moon. All shuttle victims have fallen to earth.
All will return to earth, for that is where they belong: "dust to dust".

It doesn't really matter if there are other people in the universe as all we have to worry about is how our walk with Jesus is progressing.

I would suggest that the "wasted space" is really only conjecture and that until a living, breating human sets foot on another planet that supports life, then we have to assume that no other planet is capable of supporting life, let alone intelligent life.

And the concept of aliens as popularised in shows such as Star Trek and books such as Issac Asimovs' works, are all based on evolution which is clearly untrue.

Dr. Asimov was an evolutionist, but in Star Trek, evolution is more of a plot device than anything else.

Really? Now, here's an interesting thing, God created EVERY THING including the universe, right? SO, maybe you need to think of this in the right way, in that it means people, not animals. And that it counts for the people on earth.....

Then why did JESUS, the Christ, say that there people that were NOT OF THIS FLOCK?? He was talking to Jewish leaders, and he was indicating non-Jewish people. So, it Israel is the TOTALITY of the body of Christ, then what about us Gentiles? (Don't leture me on this, I already know the answer, thank you.)

K, thought so. I NEVER SAID THAT!!!! Where did that come from? Did I say that Jesus went to another planet when the BIBLE TELLS US that he did not?? Geezzzzz..... talk about twisting words!!!

Yeah, I know. You also should mention that there will be the creation of a new heaven and earth. But how do you know that there are not other creations of God that would also be saved from this? Oh, I see you talk about that next.

Yep, this is a good point, execpt for one thing... If our God is the creator of the entire universe, and we know he is, then why is it so hard to condsider that He could very well have created life on other planets? I don't think we'll ever go to other planets, but still it's possile that He did.

Remember where the bible says "With God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE?"

I think this falls into that catagory, don't you?

There is no reason for your statement "until a living, breating human sets foot on another planet that supports life, then we have to assume that no other planet is capable of supporting life" to be logically true - and frankly, is not at all logically true.

You are detracting glory from God to assume that the only life that exists anywhere is here on earth. You are not even paying attention to the world around you - that God created.

Consider that the radius of the VISIBLE universe is estimated to be (conservatively) 141,912,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 miles.

If you don't call that wasted space, what is it then?

Note: That number represents the RADIUS of the VISIBLE universe - to get a rough idea of the total volume of the VISIBLE universe - cube that number.

Ever wonder why the more that physicists learn about the physical world - the more they believe in God? Because they are simply awed beyond words at the world's wonder and splendor, grandness and magnificents.

I certainly do. I even think it's more likely than not.
More important, C. S. Lewis believed that God had probably created sentient, intelligent life on other planets and he was way smarter than I am.

read C.S. Lewis's space trilogy. He himself said it was just fantasy, but if there is life on other planets, I think it would most likely be like that.

Yes, life on other planets does exist..whether it's of this Solar System or Galaxy or not, it exists somewhere in the universe..

I have dude, but I like to see what others think. I think there is. I mean, if God created the universe, why couldn't He have made life on other palnets?
