Well this thread's taken a turn for the worse.

How are we getting on proving that 'life and it's building blocks are way too complicated to evolve'?
You can't melt an iron bar over a candle.

At some point, you have to supply more heat, and more heat, and more heat.

Where is all that fuel coming from?

By the same token, as life gets more and more complex, where is all that information coming from?

Not very well. "Complexity" as it applies to the issue at hand is a mathematical concept, and I haven't seen any math yet.

No.

You might think it's a childish thread ... but I certainly don't.

I think its stupid to threat with something the other dont belive in. Makes it pointless.

Apart from the whole "internet tough guy" which also is pretty stupid.

Some of the Japanese in Hiroshima thought that as well.

Was Jesus the equivalent of an "Internet tough guy"?

He spoke more on Hell than anyone else in the Bible.

I didn't say you'd left. You just gave up any effort explaining where low frequency genetic variants come from.

What about it? Do you have problems with the estimate I gave you?

Why are you asking that question? Haven't my last several post clearly presented my objection to your estimates?

By illustrating what humans would say if they hadn't evolved much, perhaps?

The Bible says we have to be as a child to go to heaven. There are lots and lots of children in Heaven so we are going to need to be able to relate to them.

Which is quite problematic advice, isn't it?

It's the same approach we use in convincing small children of the existence of Father Christmas!

Remember back in the days of 45 records. They always had a hit on one side and a dud song on the other side. It was rare that they would put a good song on both sides of the record. We are talking about going to heaven. It is true that if you flip the record then you do end up talking about Hell. But the better thing to talk about is Heaven.

He did with his disciples. He did not talk about Hell as much with the children. Mark only talks about Hell once. He mentions Hell twice in the sermon on the mount. Maybe 5 times He makes reference to Hell with His disciples.

The story in Mark makes me wonder about the Muslim terrorists that want to cut off hands and feet.

Mark 9:43 And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Mark 9:45 And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:

Mark 9:47 And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:

I see. Another tasteless use of a tragedy.

No class.

Too bad there weren't any scientists around ... except Francis Kelsey ... to threaten Thalidomide mothers with something those mothers didn't believe at the time.

And more revelling in misery. Truly tasteless.

What are you gonna do when they come for you?

Let me get this straight: If there is, say, a 50% chance of rain, but I still have a nice sunny day for my picnic, then I had better call that a miracle, or they will come for me?

And when I see fossil evidence for evolution, then I need to quick cover it up and pretend it isn't there or they will come for me?

Is that what this is all about for you? You would like to open your eyes to the evidence that is out there, but what would happen if you asked questions? Would they come get you?

With all due respect, I was once where you are now, and was scared to even question my religion for fear of what might happen. But after much hesitation--and fear--I started asking questions.

And then I started to find answers.

And they didn't come get me.

They didn't have to.

Look at what all you threw overboard:

Hebrews 6:4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
Hebrews 6:5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
