Some people, men as well as women, lie to their perspective fiancés. Then after they get married ,they do the exact opposite that they promised to do.Now,I realize that we do not live in an ideal world. But, wouldn't it not be great that the couple taking a lie detector test be a part of pre-marital counseling?

Many people make sincere promises for real.

But later on they may break their promises if their circumstances change or later on realize honoring their word is way harder than they realize.

A lie detector won't work reliably. What you need is ask their friends and relatives if they have a habit of honoring their word or not.

That sounds like a horrible way to start a lifelong relationship that should be built on mutual openness and trust. If someone has the slightest feeling that they cannot trust their fiance, they have no business moving towards marriage. If you can't trust a person, don't marry them. It's that simple.

Every Christian that is going to get married should have some discernment from the Holy Spirit. He can tell you far more than a lie detector. Christian friends can get a sense too. Too bad many just look at worldly stuff though I will say that a credit report and criminal background check is worth the time.
