Well, this question just occurred to me and now I'm truly curious...how many floors might have been on noah's ark do you think?

armed2010 said:Hmm, I guess that if noahs ark ever existed, it would need thousands of levels to hold all the species of animal that we see today, plus the ones that have gone extinct. It may have gone into the hundreds of thousands. Thats only if it ever existed however.

Azazel said:There weren't all the species you see today. Many of the animals you see in the present day and time are combinations of species/families.

I don't understand this...why does someone expressing their opinion on the credibility of a certain part of the bible warrant this? He was not inflammatory, he simply stated that he thought a certain claim was outrageous. Are we not free to do so here?
blindfaith said:I have a little bit of a problem when someone posts something like that at a Christian messageboard, which this is. Granted, unbelievers are given a whole lot of leniency here, but not carte blance. It would wise to keep that in mind. Not all of the forums will be a free-for-all - this one will be an example of a forum allowing a certain leverage for those who don't believe, but not to the extent of what some would want.
Does that make sense?
Furthermore, a question about Noah's Ark has nothing to do with Philosophy or Morality, it has to do with Theology. This would be better posted elsewhere. Shall I move it?

I guess you could say that I believe in evolution ... in a sense. I don't think men evolved from apes. It takes a LOT of courage to say "I came from a monkey!"tcampen said:Hey, at least its nice to see a Noah supporter being an advocate for evolution. So, did one frog give rise to the hundreds of species we have today? Or flies? Or snakes? Or bears?
Wait a minute. That can't be right, unless you're proposing a new kind of evolution that produces hundreds of thousands of new and distinct species in a matter of a days or weeks. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Now THAT would be a real discovery.
Yea, I'm just not getting this one.
