  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hmm, I guess that if noahs ark ever existed, it would need thousands of levels to hold all the species of animal that we see today, plus the ones that have gone extinct. It may have gone into the hundreds of thousands. Thats only if it ever existed however.

IM FINISHED!!!! GRRRR....I got to level 458 with a final score of

27,505,860

Ranking: NOAH!!!

I believe the bible has a description of the ark in Gen 6:14-16 and from the look of gen 6:16 the ark has around 3 stories.

There weren't all the species you see today. Many of the animals you see in the present day and time are combinations of species/families.

Careful................

I don't understand this...why does someone expressing their opinion on the credibility of a certain part of the bible warrant this? He was not inflammatory, he simply stated that he thought a certain claim was outrageous. Are we not free to do so here?

I have a little bit of a problem when someone posts something like that at a Christian messageboard, which this is. Granted, unbelievers are given a whole lot of leniency here, but not carte blance. It would wise to keep that in mind. Not all of the forums will be a free-for-all - this one will be an example of a forum allowing a certain leverage for those who don't believe, but not to the extent of what some would want.

Does that make sense?

Furthermore, a question about Noah's Ark has nothing to do with Philosophy or Morality, it has to do with Theology. This would be better posted elsewhere. Shall I move it?

Well, the credibility that it was a Global flood and that Noah took all animals on board because everything on the earth was killed, (the literal interpretation) Is Gone.

However, that wouldnt effect the credibility of other interpretations of the story.

Hey, at least its nice to see a Noah supporter being an advocate for evolution. So, did one frog give rise to the hundreds of species we have today? Or flies? Or snakes? Or bears?

Wait a minute. That can't be right, unless you're proposing a new kind of evolution that produces hundreds of thousands of new and distinct species in a matter of a days or weeks. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Now THAT would be a real discovery.

Yea, I'm just not getting this one.

I guess you could say that I believe in evolution ... in a sense. I don't think men evolved from apes. It takes a LOT of courage to say "I came from a monkey!"

Where have you ever seen that it took "days or weeks"? And who ever said that Noah took flies, frogs, fish and the likes aboard the ark? Don't you think these creatures could have survived the waters? How many different varieties of bears are there? Hundreds? Thousands? They all have the same basic scientific family though. Why?

**an afterthought** It'd take a GREAT deal of faith coupled with some insanity to honestly believe that Noah crammed a million different animals, 2x2 to be more precise, into a boat only 3 stories high.
