Hello everyone! I''m new here

How about a little forum somewhere where we can write a loving note to those who have passed? Is that possible? We who have lost loved ones could vent our grief a little and share condolences, and we'd probably need a moderator to keep it nice and on track.

For instance, I miss my Daddy. I'd love to write him a note telling him I miss him and love him, and I'm actually wearing jewelry and a little makeup and thank him for my truck he left me.

Just an idea! Holidays are tough times when the people we love aren't here to share the food and the fun.

Ive been told that writing poems and letters to my brother was sorcery and satanic, just as youve indicated. But I just can't accept it though and I still write letters and send him my thoughts.

To me advice like that doesn't understand the intent. Its not an incantation or trying to conjour something, its just...love and sorrow. So I keep writing my letters and my parents know I do... I go outside and burn my letters and send him my love and I mourn. And theres nothing satanic about me (or my parents for condoning it).

Those who would say "sorcery and satanic" are adding to the text of scripture. It does not say that. Deut 18.10-11 lists several prohibited practices. It is not necessary to make the list all interconnected.

It sounds to me like those verses are about asking questions of the dead (and expecting answers), which doesn't seem to be even close to what these posters are suggesting.

Oh. I didn't realize this was sorcery. I thought of this just a place where we could share our loss of loved ones. That's all.

I'm not suggesting asking questions, which is why in my OP I said a moderator should keep an eye on this. I didn't see this going there. That was not my intention. I would never, ever dream of doing stuff like that.

Why in the world would anyone want to make a mess of a simple thing as this? I wrote a letter to my Daddy in my blog. I just told him what was going on and of course I won't get an answer, but it made me feel better and smile.

Gosh, some of you sound like this is some kind of the witchcraft ouija board thing! That was not my intention. I've heard of those, they are evil.

Have to agree fully with @EmmaCat here. I don't see how her earlier post can be taken to promote sorcery in any way at all. The passage in Deuteronomy cannot possibly apply here.

Thank you! And I went and read it when I saw the objection and thought, "No, I wouldn't even think of that!"

It's not communicating with the dead. It's just to say, "Hi Daddy, I miss you ..." stuff we wish we could say to the people we love who have passed.

It's just wishes. That's all, nothing more. Then another could come along and say, "I miss my father too ..." and so on. And folks could trade funny stories about their loved ones and stuff like that.

See what I'm trying to say here?
