Dear Friend,
How are you? I just had to send a note to tell you how much I love you and care about you. I saw you yesterday as you were talking with your friends. I waited all day, hoping you would want to talk with Me also. As evening drew near, I gave you a sunset to close your day and a cool breeze to rest you - and I waited. You never came. Oh, yes, it hurts Me - but I still love you because I am your Friend. I saw you fall asleep last night and longed to touch your brow, so I spilled moonlight upon your pillow and face. Again I waited, wanting to rush down so we could talk. I have so many gifts for you! You awakened late and rushed off to work. My tears were in the rain. Today you looked so sad - so all alone. It makes My heart ache because I understand. My friends let Me down and hurt Me many times, too, but I love you.
Oh, if you would only listen to Me. I love you! I try and tell you in the blue sky and in the quiet green grass. I whisper it in the leaves on the trees and breathe it in the colors of flowers. I shout it to you in the moutain strreams and give birds love songs to sing. I clothe you with warm sunshine and perfume the air with nature scents. My love for you is deeper than the ocean and bigger than the biggest want or need in your head. Oh, if you only knew how much I want to walk and talk with you. We could spend an eternity together in heaven.
I know how hard it is on this earth; I really know! And I want to help you. I want you to meet My Father. He wants to help you, too. My Father is that way, you know.
Just call Me - ask Me - talk with Me! Oh, please don't forget Me. I have so much to share with you!
All right, I won't bother you any further. You are free to choose Me. It's your decision. I have chosen you, and because of this I will wait - because I love you!
Your Friend,
Jesus

Very nice,

and very like the words he spoke while he was here on earth. Matt. 23:37

"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing."

A small request- the light blue font color you have chosen for the main body of your posts, while lovely, makes them very hard to read (I have read several). The contrast just isn't great enough. And as we enjoy reading what you post, would you mind changing the color so that it is easier to read? If you don't want to, that's okay, I will still try to read what you write.

Thank you!

God Bless

I have no doubt that you mean well, but it isn't Biblical.

Aside from the sheer blasphemy of it, there's also the small detail that, in the Bible, Jesus was rather agressive with sinners, not some whiney schoolgirl pining over some boy who won't take her to the prom.

The Bible doesn't say that Jesus pines over the lost, but that sinners are enemies of God and face His wrath.

This is, after all, the same Jesus who said that He's going to judge the wicked and send them to Hell.

While it makes for nice poetry to imagine Jesus saying that He sends His love in the wind and in the song of the birds, Jesus said that we'll know Him and know the way to salvation through the law and through the scriptures.

I agree. But, just like in the other thread, you still have this habit of spouting off random Bible verses that have nothing to do with the topic.

No one is arguing that God doesn't love the world. I'm simply making the point that the OP's poem is Unbiblical in the way that it expresses God's love for the world.

Personally, I dislike emotional driven things like that. They are ploys to try and get people to react with feelings rather then using the straight Word of God.

Like my Aunt always said to me, "God doesn't need our help. You never see an ad in the local paper with God asking for us to help him at his job."

Letters like this is man's attempt to do God's work for him. We know that the only way to faith is through hearing the Word of God, not hearing the words of man.

Let us stick to Scripture, not emotional man-made ploys.

I agree with WarEagle.

The posted letter is not particularly biblical. Jesus insulted sinners, he was pretty harsh. He talked about destruction more than he talked about salvation. He may have come to save everyone, but that doesn't mean he was super nice and gentle about it, like your letter implies. I think this view of him is what people want to believe, but possibly not what he is really like at all.

Jesus insulted sinners, he was pretty harsh. .

Jesus is insulting sinners? How so? :) I do believe that He rebuked pagans and hypocrite because of the sinful things that they do. He teaches us of what is wrong and what is right in His sight.

He talked about destruction more than he talked about salvation

Where can I find the verses about destruction? :)

He may have come to save everyone, but that doesn't mean he was super nice and gentle about it, like your letter implies. I think this view of him is what people want to believe, but possibly not what he is really like at all.

Wow, now that's harsh. If he was not super nice and gentle, will He not ignore the children in verses Mark 10: 14-15? Will He not show His wrath on the soldiers who arrested Him or the men who crucified Him? Will He not save us from our sins and let Himself be crucified instead of us?

Well, the letter of "Paul_Wright_luvr" is very nice and so true. But you can see on her letter the Father's love and how Jesus really cares for us. I think it's just how Jesus would talk right now in our generation. God Bless. :)

How can you say that it's true and how Jesus would talk, when the Bible tells us that Jesus spoke very differently and gave a completely different message?

If the letter is true, does that mean the Bible is wrong?

Please feel free to show us this Jesus in the Bible.

Basically, what the poem is saying is, "Oh, aren't I so wonderful that Jesus can't live without me". That's the same Unbiblical and man-centered philosophy that's behind these silly "Jesus is my girlfriend" worship songs.

1I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys.2As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters.3As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste.4He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.5Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love.6His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me.7I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please.8The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills.9My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, showing himself through the lattice.10My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.11For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone;12The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land;13The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away.14O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.15Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes.16My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies.17Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of Bether." wnwall, I see that you've deleted your post, but I did see it before you deleted it and I thank you for it.

You're absolutely right. I agree with you and the ironic thing is that I've stood up and said the same thing you did but this time, I took the easy way out because I thought it was better to be expedient than to give the word of God straight up.

I repent of that and ask forgiveness for it.

Thank you for correcting me.

amadeus, there are a couple of problems with using passages fronm SoS to support the OP.

The first is that it's a love letter from Solomon to his lover.

It's true that the SoS is often used to try to describe the relationship between Christ and His church, but even using that logic, the passage would still be talking about the relationship between Christ and His church, not the relationship between Christ and the unregenerate sinner, like the OP suggests.

Here's some scripture in the words of Jesus as to how we are t conduct our lives...

Mat 22:36
Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?
Mat 22:37 And Jesus said to him, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind." Deut. 6:5
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like it: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Lev. 19:18
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments all the Law and the Prophets hang.

And Jesus is our Brother.. as well as our Savior & Lord..

God loves us so much...

Eph 2:4 But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us,
Eph 2:5 even we being dead in deviations, He made us alive together with Christ (by grace you are being saved),
Eph 2:6 and raised us up together and seated us together in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus,
Eph 2:7 that He might demonstrate in the ages coming on, the exceeding great riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

1Jn 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God, and everyone who loves has been generated from God, and knows God.
1Jn 4:8 The one who does not love has not known God, because God is love.
1Jn 4:9 By this the love of God was revealed in us, because His Son, the Only begotten, God has sent into the world that we might live through Him.
1Jn 4:10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us, and sent His Son to be a propitiation relating to our sins.
1Jn 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

The only ones that Jesus was ever cross with were the "religious" of the day..

He healed ALL that came to Him.. He cleansed the lepers.. raised the dead, cast out demons..

He brought life.. not death.. love.. not hate..

To God be the glory forever.. Thank you, Lord.. for loving us so..

1Jn 4:16 And we have known and have believed the love which God has in us. God is love, and the one abiding in love abides in God, and God in him.
1Jn 4:17 By this, love has been perfected with us, that we have confidence in the day of judgment, that as He is, we are also in this world.
1Jn 4:18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has punishment; and the one fearing has not been perfected in love.
1Jn 4:19 We love Him because He first loved us.
1Jn 4:20 If anyone says, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar. For the one not loving his brother whom he has seen, how is he able to love God whom he has not seen?
1Jn 4:21 And we have this commandment from Him, that the one who loves God also loves his brother.
