• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Okay, I am very guilty of anger and flaming recently.

I want to try to talk through this.

Here are the concerns that I have seen:

  1. Liberals are taking over.
  2. Fundamentalists are taking over. (My concern)
  3. BeMi is a Satanic stronghold.
Can we work through these one at a time? Please do not go past #1 until we have resolved it or it will be absolute chaos.

For those of you who think Liberals are taking over CC, can you please list why you think this is true and provide evidence, links to threads, etc.

I also ask that NO MATTER WHAT, no reports get generated from this thread. At the same time, lets try to talk to one another as if we were talking to Jesus instead.

Finally, let me say that I am sorry that I have been abrasive, militant, and finger-pointing as I have been in the last several days. It is not my standard posting style.

I think we are all very frustrated right now and again, I would like to start over. Can we please try to work through these issues?

I think we need to define the issue properly. Liberals are not taking over, IMO, they are disrupting and pot stirring.

Yes, but taking over is the language that is being used. It is in reference to FatherRick and Belinda, and Freitag's membership, I think. That is what I am trying to clarify. What is the reason people think that Liberals are trying to take over. Why do people think that some of us are seeking "unity" with WWMC?

I'm sorry Lisa some us are very tired of these kinds of these threads which end up in more conflict I along with others want fellowship together and focus on Jesus

I understand that Karen and no one has to participate if they do not want to. I am not trying to cause more conflict. I am trying to resolve it. I just do not believe that it will "go away" on its own.

The issues reminds me of Job's friends. Their lectures were based on logics, assumptions and reasoning. The problem was that all their accusations were unfounded. We must be careful about how we react to the problems or sins of others. We must not accuse others of things we are uninformed about.

What if Christians are guilty of circular reasoning?" This is called "begging the question in logic", the Latin name petitio principii, is an informal fallacy found in many attempts at logical arguments. An argument which begs the question is one in which a premise presupposes the conclusion in some way. Such an argument is valid in the sense in which logicians use that term, yet provides no reason at all to believe its conclusion.

We will not resolve any issues until we get to the bottom of those 3 issues around here. Just my thoughts.

That is not the point of this thread. It is kind of what is wrong though. I say, "let's discuss" and you say, "that it is because some do not wish to be involved in BeMi". We are talking around each other, not to each other.

No one cares if you do not personally want to be involved in BeMi. There are some who care that it continues to exist, and those of us that feel that way should not be labeled as Liberals or allowing a Satanic Foothold. See?

You may have very strong feelings about the Occult Recovery Forum, but I also do. What I am trying to do here is get people to stop measuring each other by their passions. You passionately oppose Beth Miqlat. Okay. I passionately support it. Does this make either one of us less of a Conservative Christian?

I want us to be able to disagree without accusing one another of not being Conservative enough. I have done my fair share too from the opposite end. Rather than calling people Liberals, I have called people Fundamentalist and Militant. We are all wrong and I am trying to figure out how to fix that...if it can be fixed.

You have NOTHING to apologize for. You have not participated in the hash-slinging. I have and may God forgive me for it. I am trying to stop. I am trying to objectively see if we can find a way to get back to the loving forum we once had.

Not a member, but I can see why members of CCC think Liberals and "satanists" are taking over.

I post here, don't I? Thus people with a phobia of Pagans freak out and say there are "satanists" taking over CCC. I'm hardly a satanist, nor could I take over--and why would I want to?

Liberals taking over--because people try to bridge the gap, some have a fear of integration and think CCC is being invaded by liberals.

No offense, but please do not post here. This is a family concern. I would appreciate it if you would delete your post. We have so much to deal with right now. Please?

Well, it was probably a dumb idea to try to control it like that. They are all interrelated anyway.

I'll step back and watch this thread.

Theological conservatives come in different temperaments and with different convictions beyond the core issues of this forum.

Add some agitation from elsewhere and you get a food fight.

Not the topic of #1.

That's purely an assumption and pure human reasoning. We all are bound to confront unexpected challenges that will strike us with the fear of the unknown. We have to remember that faith is effective when there is unity.

I will fear no evil, for you are with me;

A faithful Christian will learn and see to it that our anticipations will conform to the revealed Word of God and we have nothing to doubt or fear. Jesus said in Matthew 10:29 Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father.

Jude 1:17-25
But, dear friends, remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They said to you, "In the last times there will be scoffers who will follow their own ungodly desires." These are the men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not have the Spirit.

But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.

Be merciful to those who doubt; snatch others from the fire and save them; to others show mercy, mixed with fear—hating even the clothing stained by corrupted flesh.

To him who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before his glorious presence without fault and with great joy to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen.

Some say if only my fears and doubts will leave then I will get to work. But instead you should get to work and then your fears and doubts will leave. Dwight L. Moody
