Whats that last part say? Is that Latin or something else for Timothy?

I just looked Tim 1:2. and i didn't see Timothew there. I'm confused.
It's just a name. It's greek for Timothy. Timothy is my real name, but the username Timothy was taken. So I kind of took one of the greek versions. The w at the end should be omega, and perhaps I should have taken a different form of Timothy in greek, Timotheus or something. But I took Timothew and now I am Timothew.

Timothy, my-true child in faith, grace, mercy, peace from Father God and The Christ, Jesus our Lord.

I liked how Paul said, Timothy, my true Child.
I'm a big fan of Paul so I identify with Timothy who was taught by Paul.

Why does he say to stop drinking water but drink a little wine for the stomach in 1Tim 5:23? Not trying to put you on the spot, not easily understood by anyone I'm sure, is it medicinal? For medicine or something do you think?

Timothew is not Biblical Greek. Biblical Greek would not have the w at the end... it would have the ϛ

The probable reason for Paul telling Timothy not to drink water was because they did not have any health controls on natural resources. Most water would have contained many nasty things, even dead animals, and human and animal s waste. Drinking wine would have killed a lot of bacteria in the stomach. They would not have known about bacteria, viruses, etc. but they could observe the effects of not drinking water and drinking wine.

It had to be a medicinal wine and not alcoholic in content.

Any doctor will tell you if you have stomach problems as young Timothy did, to avoid alcohol. Alcohol irritates stomach the stomach when it is already infirmed.

What is medicinal wine, how is it made? Is there any reference to such anywhere in scripture? Are you aware that before prohibition Baptist deaconesses made the communion wine and it was alcoholic.

I don't drink hardly ever. I never really liked it that much. Its good to drink alcohol when stress is really bad and sorrow is deep, it does help, but it can become an awful addiction and some should never drink. I dont need alcahol right now, but if i did, a few Beers wouldnt be bad i think. I have stomach problems and thats why i asked. I haven't even slept yet, not sure why this is, it may be related to this stomach condition. Timothy had stomach problems? Paul also Had a physician didn't he? Does the Bible say what Paul's condition was?

Since God forbade alcoholic wine in the Tabernacle, I highly doubt He allowed it in the Church.

If there were Baptist deaconesses making alcoholic communion wine, they were doing so outside of the will of God.

As to medicinal wine, there are plenty of references in books written in the 1st Century A.D. that record non-alcoholic wines that were considered to be good for a person's health. I suggest you make a trip to your local library and research books by Plato, Plutarch, Aristotles, Columella, Pliny the Elder, and Cato. All these writers, (from 1st Century B.C. to 1st Century A.D) all record non alcoholic wines and how they were made.

There indeed was a stomach wine that was called 'adumion' that was used for stomach ailments.

There are two words for wine in Greek oinos and sucre. Oionos is always fermented wine! Sucre can refer to fresh grape juice but it is also used for a sweet fermented wine.

At the last supper which was a Passover Seder real, alcohol content, wine is required by OT law. The grape harvest in Israel begins in June, Passover is in March/April, two months before. Without refrigeration the only way anyone in Israel could have grape juice in any form, at Passover, was if it was fermented, i.e. wine, with alcohol content.

At the wedding when Jesus turned the water into wine the ruler of the feast said, "Every man at the beginning does set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but you have kept the good wine until now." The word translated "well drunk" is Methuo it has only one meaning "intoxicated." It does not mean to drink a large quantity. Also there was a comparison, how much grape juice does a person have to drink before they can't tell the difference between good and bad?
