  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Someone who doesn't know what a day is, can't tell the difference between something global and something local, thinks there was no life prior to abiogenesis, confuses magic with miracles, thinks one of the functions of Christianity is to hunt witches, thinks anyone but Matthew wrote Matthew (even though his name is on it in huge font size), thinks Israel was promised to them by anyone but Who they claim promised it, confuses the name of the Christian God with the name of an obscure German deity, etc. and so ad nauseum forth.

So the short version is someone who is completely misunderstood by you.

You, of all people, should know what an Internet scientist is -- q.v. your custom user title.

A scientist who only exists on the Internet ... thus, an Internet scientist, eh?

That's a tongue in cheek reference to a Research2 quote. He said that atheists only exist on the internet, and that no atheist has ever achieved anything like becoming a doctor or an engineer.

I say it doesn't matter where you are in the universe, or how fast you are moving.

Day = one revolution of our home planet.
Are you sure? Give example from Genesis 1:1 to 1:13 (before the lights in the sky were created to be sings for days, etc.)

Genesis 1:5 shows that the earth was in rotation before anything else with mass even existed in the universe.

Where it says "rotation"? You're putting your words in the Bible. It is talking only about light, darkness, day, night, morning, evening and the first day.

Okay AV. Answer this then: what definition did the Jews put on 'day' and 'night'?

Who cares?
The referee known by name Reason.

If you don't care about why do you believe in your BS, then don't sell it to the others. BTW, didn't the Bible tell you somewhere that you have to care? Being careful in your beliefs, perhaps?

Who cares?

You should. Your interpretation can be validated and/or invalidated based on the original etymology.

I *believe* my memory serves right after discussing this with a few theologians: The definition is: Sunrise to sunset=day, otherwise: night

What does this tell you?

Just answer the question. Don't act stupid. You claim to be a biblical literalist so show me the word rotation in the aforementioned verse of Genesis. If you can't you're adding stuff.
Who's the one showing ignorance, "knowledge"?

You know as well as I do that ... okay skip that.

You should know as well as I do that there are descriptive words in use that are not in the Bible, yet they are -- like "rapture" and "trinity".

Like I said show me where it says the Earth was rotating. If it didn't then it is just an assumption on your part... which is needless to say not a literal interpretation.

In fact, the bible REPEATEDLY states the earth is immobile - if read "literally". So, rotation.... Well, rotation=motion, so...

Sure ...

Genesis 1:5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.

How did it get from evening to morning, if it wasn't rotating?

Right -- like:

1 Corinthians 15:58 ¶ Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Be ye "unmoveable" -- yet "always abounding".

Rotating relative to what AV? you are assuming a stationary light source. None such existed according to you. You just went on to say nothing but the earth existed in the universe. Hence, no light source. And, the definition of night and day also requires a sun.

FG, this is why I ignore a lot of stuff you say.

I said no such a thing -- you might want to go back and read what I said, as I was careful not to say that.

I never said nothing but the earth existed after Day One; in fact, I went out of my way not to.

I said the earth was the only physical thing in the universe after Day One.

Light was also created on Day One, and I knew someone would call me on that if I didn't include it.

I do not enjoy conversing with you at all.

Your zeal to show me to be in error causes you to make mistakes.
