  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

O....kay. Back to the topic.......

While I agree with the sentiments of the thread starter, I must interject that it really depends on the circumstances governing one's own choice for a mate.

What I'm saying is that a 30 year old woman will most likely take suitors expressing interest in her much more seriously because men of similar age would likewise be as readily determined for a commitment. It's not so much picking-the-first-joe-that-comes-along as much as it is choosing from a pool of potentials who are more serious about relationships. So, if that first guy does come along and he's ready and she's also ready, well why not?

Not to knock your age, but the reason your friend's "relationships" lasts only days is because they're teenagers (I'm assuming of course). Why would they be serious about committing to anything so heavy at that age? You're supposed to get to know a lot of people and grow from it.
