  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My first time officially camping in a tent happened when I was 16 yrs old. We moved from Florida to Washington State and went camping our first weekend there. We camped in one of the national forests and I saw some of the most breathtaking scenery of my life! I fell in love with camping and have been a few more times since then. I am waiting now for my boys to get older, then we'll start camping together. I might try it out in our backyard first, in case they don't like the idea - we can run back in the house and sleep in our beds. ;)

Wwally shared a neat hiking story earlier. :) Does anyone else have a story they would like to share?? :D

Oh my gosh! All we did when I was growing up was go camping! I think my first big camping trip was when I was 5. We went from Oregon to Texas, camping in a tent all the way. It was my Mom and Dad, my Grandma, and myself and my brother and two sisters. We all slept in this huge army tent.

For years and years that was how we camped. We thought we had really hit the high life when my parents bought a trailer! Woo Hoo! :clap: :D

I love to go camping. There's just something about the outdoors and sitting by a campfire with a little chill in the air...:thumbsup: yep! One of my favorite things to do!
