I guess, that it is a case of
whatever you have been brought-up-to to enjoy
along with personal experimentation and taste preference
I am happy to learn from the experiences of others

iow: I enjoyed that which my parents obviously enjoyed
and am content to avoid that which I know they found distasteful
I like plain yoghurt
and HAVE swallowed milk that has gone PAST IT'S BEST
[ever so slightly]

but I pass
on sharing a similar experience to that of my parents, concerning that cheese type

A good strong English mature cheddar with a little freshly ground black pepper - on multi-grained wholewheat of course

I draw 'the line' at spreadable sandwich cheese [triangles]
otherwise the ONLY cheese [other-than solid] I can eat
is that, which is, inside cheese and potato pie [well 'hidden']
