thanks for the link....i remember reading about tallow so many times in the fairy tales and other stories as i was growing up.....and my mom used lard for everything...she made the best biscuits

Mum used to make them 'man-shaped'
but generally they are roundish balls
about 2/3rds smaller than pool balls [?]
of suet based dough that are stewed [to cook]
and have the taste/ texture of bread when eaten

LOL Bro' 'preparation' is EVERYTHING

So, we have the veggies, spices and diced beef simmering away
with, approximately fifteen minutes left until 'ready'

We have rubbed up the suet with some flour and compressed
tablespoons-full of, the dough into little balls

and assembled deep plates in-prepaartion for serving...
