I'm trying to make a list of Non-Christian bands that have Christians in the band...and through the effect the lyrics.

Thrice is the first one that comes to mind. They are mainstream non-christian....but the singer is christian and the lyrics reflect that.

Any others?

Yeah, U2. Bono, the Edge, and Adam. Rumors are that Larry became christian, I don't know yet though! It would be awesome.

Actually they are all Christians. And it was Adam who got saved last, not Larry. Just to clear things up lol.

Not according to their lead singer.

Recently I was looking through the Rolling Stone that came out right after Johnny Cash passed. Switchfoot was featured in one of those "up and coming" type articles. The singer's quote was, "we're Christian by faith, not genre".

Doesn't sound to me like he considers them a Christian band. A band of Christians perhaps.

Nah - just to be contrary. That just makes you a band full of christians of whatever level of commitment. Adolf Hiltler went to Sunday school. If he joined with some other sunday school graduates and started a band in his teens by your definition they would have been a 'christian' band.

Hmmmm

I would only call a christian band a 'christian' band if they obviously practiced and you could see it by their fruits.

How is there a difference between a band made up completely of Christians and a Christian band? The only difference is that those bands don't want to label themselves as a "Christian Band" because of the reputation that has.

As to your Hitler reference I wouldn't call that a Christian band if the members were not committed Christians.

Hi, God called. He said he wants you to take that plank out of your eye.

A Christian band is a band that has christians in it. No need to label it. It's a band. Why do we have to label everything? FAct is...many of these "christians in bands" do far more reach-out than your typical "Christian band"
heh

Following is a list of non-christian bands with Christian members:

Threshold - British prog metal with a Christian keyboardist in Richard West. West wrote all the lyrics to the bands recent album "Subsurface"

Shadow Gallery - Prog hard rock, kind of like a combination of Dream Theater and Kansas. According to the bands website, "most of its members are believers of the Christian faith".

Avian, Pyramaze & Balance Of Power - These are all bands moving in a melodic power metal direction that feature vocalist Lance King

Magnitude 9 - More melodic power metal. It's keyboardist, Joseph Glean, is a Christian

Proto-Kaw - Includes Kerry Livgren (Kansas)

AdrianGale - Melodic hard rock band that features former Guardian vocalist Jamie Row

Warlord - Epic power metal with William Tsamis on lead guitar
