Peace in Christ.
Again….our Lord takes away the handwriting of ordinances/dogmas of the churches (their “statements of faith, church “constitutions”, “statutes”, “by-laws,” “creeds”, etc, etc, etc….and nails it to His cross. They no longer have power over us. Their power is neutralized by His cross.
He forgives us for the keeping and serving of these “images”….these graven-by-the-church scribes-pen images.
He has forgiven us of ALL trespasses that were done with the “churches” of fleshly-minded men who had you willfully keeping and serving (and judging others with) their handwritings of church dogmas.
We are to walk in Him….and follow Him out of the “churches” of fleshly men who keep and serve their externally-written handwritings of ordinances more than they keep and serve His commandments which are written upon our internal hearts and minds.
Col 2:13-15 KJV
(13) And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
(14) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
By following Him out of their “churches”, He makes an open show of them…spoiling their “principalities and powers” as they have no power over us any longer. We triumph over them in Him.
(15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
We put off the “body”…divesting ourselves wholly from that church body that works and serves the sins of the flesh…where they are judging others via their handwritings. They are serving the sin by doing so. The whole church body sins by doing so....and we must no longer attach our mortal bodies with them but be circumcised by Christ.
Col 2:11 KJV
(11) In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
We are then sanctified/cleansed when we come out from among their churches and are separate from them …no longer attaching ourselves to the “unclean”…the dead body of a fleshly-minded church that keeps and serves their “idols”…the “graven images” of their handwritings of ordinances/dogmas.
Heb 13:11-15 KJV
(11) For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
We are sanctified with His own blood as we go forth unto Him OUTSIDE (without) the camp bearing His reproach. This is how we are to be cleansed of our sin for sitting together with them…becoming “one flesh” with them. This is the true “fornication” that we had been involved with.
We bear His reproach because the unbelievers who will continue to stay in their “church”…the dead body….will persecute those who will leave.
(12) Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
(13) Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
They serve in a “camp”….a temporary place…but we are looking for a “continuing city”. They mortally perish in the churches of men while we who are outside their churches expect to inherit an age-lasting life in this mortal body…never seeing death for Jesus already died for us in the flesh and was resurrected in the flesh so that we might have His life now in the flesh…this mortal body.
(14) For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
(15) By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.
We are not redeemed with the corruptible things….their handwritings of ordinances...received by our church fathers who passed them down (their “tradition”…that is, their passed down handwritings) from one generation to another. Our church behavior was empty because of the keeping and serving of the church scribes' handwritings that have been passed down from them for us to also keep and serve....and perish with the using of them. They are lifeless, empty writings that do not save anyone.
1Pe 1:18-19
(18) Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition (passed down transmission) from your fathers;
We are to leave them behind and be redeemed with the precious blood of Christ who nails their passed down “traditions” to His cross. We are sanctified by His blood.
(19) But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
We are to not to be carried about with many of their strange teachings….being like children in understanding….being tossed to and fro by every wind of doctrine of deceitful men.
Their “meats”…their teachings…do not profit them as they mortally perish. They are “meats” or teachings sacrificed to their “idols”….their images...that is, their handwritings. We are not to eat of their “meats”…that is, their teachings…which are according to their handwritings which are the commandments and doctrines of earthly-minded men.
Heb 13:9-14 KJV
(9) Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein.
(10) We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle.
(11) For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp.
(12) Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate.
(13) Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach.
(14) For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come.
This is the “holy”…to be separate for cleanness…commandment we are not to turn away from. We must come out from among them and be separate and no longer attach our mortal bodies with them.
2Co 6:17-18 KJV
(17) Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
(18) And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
The way of righteousness is to follow our Lord and Savior out of the churches of fleshly-minded men who keep and serve their handwritings. This is our sanctification as His blood redeems us from the dead “body” of the sins of those fleshly men we had once partook of.
Remember Lot’s wife…and never return. Never look back. Take nothing of theirs with you….none of their teachings nor commandments. Leave it all behind you.
2Pe 2:20-22 KJV
(20) For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.
Let us not turn from the “holy commandment” that is delivered unto us to keep. Holy = separateness that entails purity. We are to come out from among them and be SEPARATE and no longer attach ourselves to the unclean. We are “clean” when we come out from among them and are separate…be “holy”.
(21) For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.
(22) But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.
