  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Snow is falling in Colorado, including in the Denver metro area. It's a blessing to have a taste of winter.

On the other hand, my gas heater's out (filter got full, and I can't seem to get the reset button to work). Happily, the electric heater is keeping the master bedroom toasty and that's the main living area.

Happy snowflakes coming down...

Alright enough complaining about the white^stuff. Try living up here where we can have snow 7 months of the year and temps of -50C. At the moment however, everythings still brown with mild temps which has extended our mtb/road biking season... looks like another brown Christmas ?!!

Actually, I get the best of both worlds and have it easy. The weather moves from west to east and Denver lies in the lee of the mountains. When we get snow it rarely lasts for more than a couple of days. Then the sun comes out again and we're back to late fall. Nothing quite like 300 days of sunshine a year!

f^s - on the other hand we don't get to boast about being tough in the winter. :^)

i for one am happy winter is here. i get to go snowboarding up in the san bernadino mountains. here in san diego we, obviously, don't get any snow, but it is pretty dang cold. i think currently it's 36, which is below freezing for us...

(Chuckle) The last time I was on the California coast in winter my sisters and I were walking around in sweaters while all the locals were wearing winter coats.

So the laws of physics work differently in California.... that makes a curious kind of sense...

We're supposed to be getting some snow here in Wisconsin on Thursday! So, I'm excited about it!! And it's so funny cuz I used to HATE winter and snow with a passion when I was unsaved...it was summer all the way for me, lol! But then after I got saved God began to open my eyes to the way that He sees winter and now I love winter just as much as I love summer! Of course if I had to choose, I'd definately choose SUMMER still, lol... But, it's nice to not hate such a beautiful season anymore...
