The rules of internet, including especially forums, don't allow being absolutely truthful, since the truth is hated by most of the world, and everything is for more numbers, more money, fake peace.

It is hard today to stand for truth in every arena even among many Christian gatherings when scripture is used to correct and challenge the man made traditions it is often rejected and the messenger attacked, but we must still speak the truth in love always. If we should seek to please men we should not be the servants of Christ.

Paul questioned sone and asked am I become your enemy because I tell you the truth?

That’s a sad commentary on some who profess to walk in truth when they cannot bear other truths.

But we pray that truth has its free course everywhere

I agree with this.

It they teach and study God's word chapter by chapter and verse by verse I suppose there can be some merit.

Yes some merit comes by hearing truth and scripture. But sometimes good enough is the enemy of the best

But I don't really see much merit in going to see a pastor that quotes a few verses out of the bible surrounded by a personal written sermon that only sends a person off with milk rather than the meat of God's word.

This is true, nowhere in the new testament do we ever see one man in the pastor gift dominating over all the believers and controlling all things and ministry. The scriptures teach of mutual edification in Christ to one another.

Especially if all you're learning is some moral lesson followed by an altar call. (of which is stated if one already has the foundation of Christ they need to move past) I think it's more important to stick with what God's telling us rather than man. Many I believe leave it to their pastors to feed them properly and think that's all they need.

Yes, always follow Christ as he leads . John boldly says we have no need any man should teach us ,the anointing teaches all things (1 John 2:27).yes, God gives teachers. But all teachers must also speak the truth in Christ and be led by God working in them to the degree of faith they have and the proportion from God. So it is not the man teaching but the spirit in reality.

But I also believe like you said, we can edify the church in other ways outside of a building.

Yes, we can always minister at anytime and fellowship etc. but the one place where the body should be able to do this is as they gather together. Yet, this is the one place where all are often silenced or used as puppets to strand ding give money go home.
