I think the idea of this site is great. But I believe that there are way to many category and forums then is necessary. My suggestion is to slowly cut down on them and start removing forum by forum. This would really increase the activity and would be wonderful.

Also, there are way too many sticky thread, remove all them but one; within that thread have a link to different threads that are important, all the sticky threads can all be in one forum section all together. But like I said, the one sticky thread in the forum section be unique to that forum section with related information and thread links.

I kind of agree with that, actually. We could easily merge a few forums. Some of the forums never get any posts any more anyway.

A bit of simplification might make CF more welcoming to new arrivals.

I'm finding this kind of humorous. Much of the reason for so many separate forum rooms seems to be so esoterically selective groups can hide away in their own rooms and not have to hear from anyone not in total agreement with them.

Now, as seems to regularly happen, one of the "private" groups is, again, complaining that their forum is dead. Small wonder.

You can only "report" visitors to your group's forum, and shut them up by running them off for just so long, till it is only you and your cat left to talk to one another.

One forum got phased out (Dreams and Visions- thank you Lord), but it shouldn't even be around to still gawk at. Just delete the whole mess.

There are too many forums here. Keep the denominational forums- but why does there need to be GT and Christian apologetics and philosophy and ethics? It should all be one board. Why have Christian Advice and a New Christians board and Deeper Fellowship? I don't see why those can't all be the same board. Why do we even need a separate forum for minister's kids and then ALL of the separate ministry boards? None of those get enough traffic to warrant all of those being separate. Make them one board. There doesn't need to be three political boards either.

In fact, I think the forums tend to be more disorganized than anything, which likely makes them more difficult to moderate in the long run too.

I agree, way too many forums.
How many are there now??

Perhaps look at the ones with the most activity, divide those up into better categories, and ditch the rest.

The most useful ones for me are
Christian Advice
Womens - this needs to be separate
new believers - when I first started I posted here
real pets/animals - I don't even know why there's a 'fake pets' one here..no idea what that's a bout
prayer requests - this can be divided up to personal and praying for other nations/peoples
testimonies
Ask a chaplain and coffee shop
bipolar disorder - I'm glad there is a separate forum for this, as it is quite different and not to be lumped in with OCD and schizophrenia or borderline

that's a bout it. I don't post or even look at the denominational ones anymore.
I steer clear of General Theology too - too many debates and arguments. Also in the Bible it says not to debate and argue and backbite.
One I'd like to see is How to forum - like church ministry and outreach ideas - not separate ones like we have now
Discussing books of the Bible - e.g., make a whole forum about the first 5 books of the Bible, another one on Paul's letters, on one Revelation, another on the 4 gospels..another on prophets, one on Proverbs and Psalms..
instead of separate international forums just put them all in the Tower of Babel and let everyone ask each other where they are from.

I agree. Activity would be increased and condensed if it weren't so spread out. This way it would be less confusing for members who aren't used to the site.

Personally I found value with Dreams and Visions and help over the years, but with it gone, I agree with you it should be deleted and not sitting there.

I wouldn't want Christian Advice posted with Deeper Fellowship - as a visitor of both those sub-forums, the posts and audience seem quite different. New Christians and Christian Advice being merged makes sense to me.
