We are doing "Finding God In Mark" by Rowan Williams. Very good book.

Would that be "Meeting God in Mark"? Or is there another one?

I think Mark's gospel is wonderful for intensive study. My children all did the Mark's Gospel for their GCSE (different schools) and I frequently look at the textbooks they failed to return :)

We also have evening ecumenical services every Sunday (lent season) with the local Methodist, RCC and Baptist churches.

Interesting. Some of the churches in my community, during holy week, get together every day that week for a service that consists of scripture readings, hymns, and a sermon. Each church generally sends a few representatives, but everybody is encouraged to attend if they can. The larger of these churches take turns hosting it. The event(s) generally brings Episcopalians, Assemblies of God, Southern Baptists, Evangelicals, Presbyterians, and Methodists together. To be sure, each church has their own unique services that week as well, but it is nice to come together as Christians for worship.

This is our faith is a pretty decent book. There are some classical works out there that also do a great job of highlighting the historical origins and doctrines of Anglicanism, which you might find interesting. If you're into podcasts, I would also strongly recommend Anglican Studies which is a great journey through the doctrines, history, sacraments and nature of Anglicanism. It can be a fun read in the car, on the bus, etc.

As for my own lenten reflections, I'm reading A Clean Heart Create in Me by CS Lewis. So far, it's been great! It was given to me as a gift last Lent, but I had already started another book and didn't read it as well. There's so much to think about from it, so I'm glad I saved it for this year.

The cathedral was passing out Lenten meditations by the Episcopal Relief Society. I'm really surprised they would do that as they are otherwise so committed to a conservative agenda, and last year they passed out a devotional that was much more generic conservative evangelical stuff. The meditations in this years booklet are mostly written by clergy from Holy Trinity Wall Street and reflect the politics of the national church much moreso.
