  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Dude, the law was nailed, for the Christian, through the body, not for the unsaved, they have not gone to the cross. I have no problem thinking the law stands to condemn, and kill, and arouses sin, as it's purpose, for the unsaved, the way Paul used in in Rom 1-3, and 7, and the way he told Tim, the law was not for the church, the just, but for the UNsaved, in chapter 1. But once we die to flesh and law, we are not under it, it is abolished for the Church.

Read what you just wrote.... "The law was nailed to the cross"...the you say, "I have no problem thinking the law stands..."...then you say it is for the "unsaved"...

So lets get this straight... The law still exist! Correct?

so when God says "thou shalt not steal", we automatically want to go out and steal?

that's the dumbest thing i've ever heard!

Yes, the law makes me want to go out and steal, murder, lie, dishonor my parents, covet...

My fleshly carnal self has nothing to do with it!

LOL

I didn't know temptation or opportunity were in the law. I found it no where... I thought temptation came from the flesh.

Y

why did the law come?:p

20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,

well...it says...about lust....

7:5 For while we were living in the flesh, our sinful passions, aroused by the law, were at work in our members to bear fruit for death.

The command came, and sin loved it!:D It worked hand in hand, married to the law. Sin is an opportunist, that loves law, to keep the Adamic creation happy.

7:8 But sin, seizing an opportunity through the commandment, produced in me all kinds of covetousness. For apart from the law, sin lies dead.

Please. Lets put on our spiritual thinking caps here for a moment.:)

I have said over and over, that Paul told Tim, the law was NOT for the justified, in his churches, but for the unsaved. LOL..of course they are still under the curse of the law, in the holding prison. DUDE! Try to see we were lifted out of the Adamic creation, into a new man, free from law and death, and sin, but the unsaved are in a prison of Adam.

Gal 3:22 But the Scripture imprisoned everything under sin, so that the promise by faith in Jesus Christ might be given to those who believe.

23 Now before faith came, we were held captive under the law, imprisoned until the coming faith would be revealed.

Please ask frogster, if you would like more teachings on this,:preach: and how it pertains to the fact that we stand in a sphere of grace, rom 5;2, but those in Adam, are under the curse of the law, gal 3:10, because they do not accept the cross, Gal 3:13. They were not ransomed out of slavery, that is what redeemed means there, in 3:13.

Then I guess you don't understand repentance. It means repenting of sin and changing course...going the other way...doing the will of God.

Y
Are you trying to insult me? Or are you trying to say that after I repented I must follow the law and not the leading of the Holy Spirit? Gal 5:18. I'm not subject to the law.
