Admittedly I have not read his book and my understanding of the theory is based on a referral in Brain Greene's Elegant Universe.
For those that don't know, Lee's proposal is basically this:
Blackholes are the seeds of new universes which are hidden from us beyond the event horizon. Each universe that is created in a blackhole has slightly different variations in fundamental constants, sort of like a cosmic mutation. So a multiverse exists were universes that are more probe to blackhole formation are more common, this being a solution to the anthropic principle. The reason why the fundamental constants are the way they are is because they are the ones that are probe to form blackholes.
Does anyone know the theoretical support for this idea? Or what is your opinion of the idea?
Personally I believe it to be quite elegant, although the truth of a theory is not based on aesthetics, so it would be nice to know what the foundations of the theory are.
