Quite awesome. i am actually studying German in college, amoung other languages. I used to speak it when I was very young, but went so many years without it that I forgot, so I am picking up the ball again.

I would really like to learn German too. I learn a bit at school in my teens but that was years ago.I am studying Biblical Studies at univeristy and I find a lot of footnotes in German in my reading and also a lot of references to German theologians and papers written by German theologians. Now I am not sure where to start.

Blessings:wave:

hi.

i think now we have enough to open a german class ;)

the best is if you start to learn a language to learn the basic stuff and to find someone who helps you. the best is a native speaker. so if you have any questions feel free to ask ainuhina, soda or me.

I like to learn Languages, too :)

In order, so far I've studied:
German .......12 yrs. :help:
Russian ........ 3 yrs. (but I've chosen to stuff that fluency way-down into me noggen, :D
English ........40 yrs. - you can't ;) tell, eh?, LOL)
Spanish ................less than 200-words
Latin ............. 2 yrs. But, I won't talk with the Dead ^_^
French .......... 2 yrs., and I lived in french-Quebec during that time.
(medical).. 30+ yrs. A specialized-"foreign" language, tho most people don't count it as that.
Comes with THREE :sigh: (seperate) 23-volume encyclopedias, I learned.

8. Hebrew & Chinese are 2 more languages I am interested :) in learning, as well.

Spanish is one of the easier languages i think. Many build on eachother though. If you learn Spanish you can learn most major and sub-major languages spoke in south America. Because languages come in different fmaily trees they are not hard to learn, or as hard. Like many of the rules that apply to Latin apply to other languages. German, Spanish, French, and Latin all have conjegated verbs. This is why some have a harder time learning English. The word "run" has deifferent tenses, but it's the pronouns that explain the meaning of who is doing the moving.

I'm thinking about it, actually. My degree is actually listened as English/Literature, but i want to double major with Lingustics on. if I go onto Grad School, and on to get a PhD (I'm shooting for Cambridge if it comes to that) then it will probably be in Literature of some degree. I have not fully chosen that yet.

I could get a job with Microsoft or the Government as a translator.

hrm... It's fun though. For ministry, I have thought long and hard, about being a speaker and traveling the world and not needing a translator to trace my steps. Now that would be of great value *thumbsup*
