Leaning friends

I was thinking. When was the last time you seen friends leaning on each other? I don't know why but I was thinking of Jesus and John. It must have been an amazing friendship. I see john leaning on Him at supper. These days people think "THEY ARE GAY!!!!" What a load of nonsence.

Or think of David and Johnathan. What an amazing Love. These things show us what a friend can be. LOL, I wanted to type something meaningfull about it.

But all I can do is look and ponder. Have you ever thought of that? Ever thought bout John leaning on Jesus? It makes me think of the song "leaning on the everlasting arms".

What are your thoughts on this?

I have learned that when you go through trials and you are at the end of your rope. Look around and see who is really there for you. These are your true friend, and the ones you can lean on to help you. Always remeber them and take care of them in their time of need. I have a couple and I thank God for them. Genuine true friends are rare.

Wow. this post smacked me right in the face. I've been going thru some difficult times (marriage, etc.) and i discovered this very thing the hard way. when you are at the end of your rope, look around. the people who are still there are your REAL FRIENDS.

I had a very close online friend who i supported thru HER very difficult times. but when it came time to return the favor she decided that i was too negative and left for greener pastures. she was still in contact with me, but didnt share everything like she once had. neither did she respond to any of the Good things that i shared with her about my life. it was a very tuff time for me.

we still communicate, but it's not the same. she still swears she was a loyal friend even tho she had to take a 'step back' from me as she called it.

luckily, I had other friends who came to rescue and we became closer because of it.

I learned this the same way.. the hard way. I was at the end of my rope. The one person I expected to be there for me was not. However, someone else was. The person that was, I owe more than I ever feel I can repay,and I try always to be there for. Like you said, I am now much closer to this person.

The person that let me down.. well I am not so ready to jump when they say how high now. It does hurt when those who you thought you could depend on fail you when you need them.

Thank God there was someone there for me.
