Lean On Me

Ok, this probably sounds strange, but I'm thinking about becoming a Psycologist and would like people to come to me with thier problems...& so I figure I need practise. I don't really know what psycologists do, other than listen, but if anyone has something they want to spill to me, I'll be glad to give you my opinion and advice, to the best of my ability.

Thanks planet_shaker, for the bit of encouragement. I can't tell you why your'e happy if I don't know any more about you tho...lol. & Kepa, I don't think she meant anything by it, please don't be offended.

If you want to be a Psychologist, you have to study and get a degree. They don't just listen, they analyze as well. You need to learn how to analyze what people say. And you learn that by studying to get a degree in psychology. By all means, do this. I'm just saying, I wouldn't ask someone who wasn't fully qualified to perform surgery on me, neither would I entrust my mental health into someone who wasn't fully qualified. Not trying to discourage you, go for it, be a psychologist, just get educated.

Kepa, I'm not asking you to entrust me with anything! I'm not a Psychologist yet, and won't be one for a while. I am now and will continue to study for a future degree, and thought maybe I could help someone too. If you don't want to test me, that's fine with me. I am, after all, just a young woman looking for some fun. All I am hoping for is that someone will ask for my advice, which would make me feel like they think I'm worth asking. It's nice to feel worthy of that kind of respect, you know? And hopefully, the advice I can give will be worthwhile to them, which is the most important thing after all--If I can't even give good advice, how am I supposed to be able to combine advice with analysis?
I enjoy your comments. Though you seem critical of my ability to help anyone, you do make me explain exactly what I'm expecting to do--that's good practice too!

I don't think that you're unable to help someone. That's the furtherest thing from what I think. I think everyone is able to help someone in some capacity. You may be able to offer great advice. I guess the thing was, from your original post, I got the sense that you were going to try to be a psychologist without any training. Anywho, best wishes for your future career, go hard, and cya later
