When he was arrested, Paul self identified as (present tense) being a Pharisee. You mean as a Pharisee before Christ don't you,
When he was arrested, Paul self identified as (present tense) being a Pharisee.
Oh,Yes, in knowledge he certainly was. But even that knowledge couldn't make him righteous. That was him in his old life under the law in Romans 7. But that was before Christ. If you believe trying to obey the law is enough, it isn't. You must be born again of the Spirit of God.
Oh,
Then where should a Pharisee raised in the spirit of knowledge(milk) find understanding(honey) unless a person ask for strength in forgiveness.
That knowledge?
Hmph.
with a course of the heart and rKnowledge of the laws of God is what I was talking about, and what the person of Romans 7 knows.
As salty tears flow,Knowledge of the laws of God is what I was talking about, and what the person of Romans 7 knows.
With tears of knowledge Seperate the waters in spirit before accepting the 4 rivers.Knowledge of the laws of God is what I was talking about, and all that the person of Romans 7 knows.
Refering to him when he was lost as a Pharisee under the lawWhen he was arrested, Paul self identified as (present tense) being a Pharisee.

But perceiving that one group were Sadducees and the other Pharisees, Paul began crying out in the Council, “Brethren, I am a Pharisee, a son of Pharisees; I am on trial for the hope and resurrection of the dead!”
Not past tense. Also note what occurred a few days earlier:
Paul was being accused of telling Believing Jews to stop obeying Moses. James knew that was not true so he gave Paul an opportunity to demonstrate otherwise:
Acts 21:24
take them and purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so that they may shave their heads; and all will know that there is nothing to the things which they have been told about you, but that you yourself also walk orderly, keeping the Law.
Not quite, Paul became a Jew as under the law to them under the law. Also Paul perceived the sadducees snd Pharisees there and used his past to bring out more discussion and acceptance among some. Not so. Note the PRESENT TENSE:

Paul said “I lived (past tense)
Acts 26:5. Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.”
