Hello Everyone,

Recently we were talking about Law and Grace, which of the following statements would you think is most correct and why?

A.) Grace is the opposite of Law
B.) Grace is the same as Law
C.) Grace is built upon Law

What do you think, A, B, or C?

Please share any verses that support what you think?

Without the law, no one would need grace. They work in tandem. Its like when a police officer gives a warning over speeding Did the law go away? Of course not. Its why when Jesus healed He said go and sin no more- meaning do not continue to break His law.. We are saved from sin Mat 1:21, not saved in sin Pro 28:13 Heb 10:26 Jesus wants to free us not only of the penalty of sin, but also of the power of sin through Him John 14:15-18

This sums it up nicely

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? 2 Certainly not! How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it?

The Law showed the Jews and all of us, how much we need grace. The truism we all need is "he that is forgiven much Loves much", so we to obtain an unbelievable huge Love, we must accept an unbelievable forgiveness for a huge debt created by our huge sinning. The Law shows us we are huge sinners, thus needing a huge amount of forgiveness (grace/mercy/Love). The Law has to come first.

With grace, the life of the Spirit in us, we can obey the law without ever hearing the law. Both the law and grace are good, from God, but the law cannot possibly be fulfilled apart from grace, apart from Him, the Vine, IOW.

Jesus brought grace when he came in the flesh, but example of grace was in the days of Noah. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD. (Genesis 6:8), And Noah and his family was saved. Not save from eternal life, but saved from the flood. This is why Jesus had to come. Paul says in Hebrews 9: 26 for then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

So grace is nothing more than a free gift. And that free gift is our access back to the tree of life (Jesus) which Adam caused us to lose by disobeying God. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned: (Romans 5: 12) But to maintain your grace you must keep the law also come under the blood of Jesus. The books say in (1John 3:4) Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. Now we have just read the biblical definition of sin, the transgression (breaking) of the law (commandments.) It doesn’t matter what you or I think sin is, it’s what God says sin is that counts.
