  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The Great Gate of Kiev...I remember playing that in band. I can actually close my eyes & remember how to play it!!! I love that one.

Cool!!! really great invisible , it's really nice to meet someone who knows that piece of music well , I have sevearl versions of it , the first time I heard it was when I was about 14 on a radio Rock program played by Isao Tomita , he did the entire piece on a synthesiser and I was spell-bound , later I heard it by ELP and a few others , my fav recording of it is on piano ... it's a monster piece , I love the Russian composers :D :liturgy:

My sister & I played it as a duet long before we played it in the symphonic band. I love classical music...and jazz...and rock...well, pretty much any music as long as some intelligence is detectable.

:D great!!!

seeing as you know the piece really well invisible , have a listen to this guy , It think he is Japanese , look at his interpretation of the Great Gate Of Kiev on classical guitar .......... I was stunned to hear someone attempt this on piano , even more stunned to here someone attempt it on a six string guitar ; the music is awesome full of change with quiet and loud parts , full of emotion and patriotism , but best of all the chimes , the peel of bells effect I mean ....

Click on this recording , this is stunning stuff!!!
