  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Last Shabbat I woke up at 4am. Very unusual for me, but I was wide awake and knew I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep. So I went out on my back porch with a cup of coffee. I live in a trailer park just outside of town. It was still dark and I closed my eyes and listened to the wind blow thru the huge pine tree next door. It sounded like I was in a forest. I smelled the Russian Olives in bloom. They have the most wonderful cinnamon scent. I heard a rooster crow and a lamb cry. Then some horses were playing near by. As I watched a beautiful sunrise and felt the warmth on my face I had such joy in my heart.

I wonder how much we would be affected by the sights, smells and sounds of the Temple. I wonder how much our understanding of Scripture would be enhanced. As much joy as I have for the approaching fall festivals, it is diminished because I can’t experience that.

Tisha B’Av is July 27th

you are so right.... as I recall, the ancient rabbis have said numerous times that the full depth and vigor and meaning and involvement in the festivals can not be known in the absence of the Temple..... THAT is at the heart of the millenia of weeping.......

indeed Mikhael,

as the certain hassidic group , the chabad lubavitchers, say:

"MASHIACH NOW"

and as Rambam says
"...Messiah will arrive today" (paraphrase)

may he come speedily in our day
and establish for us the reconstruction of Yerushalayim
and the Bet HaMikdash, for this is the third day.

shalom u'brachot good friend,
Antonio

P.S.
will you be able to join us in San Antonio?
