I got that, and appreciate your honesty. But one in this very thread said they have no intention ever of being baptized. That is a condition of the heart, that perhaps will change over time, but at the present is an act of willful disobedience.
If someone lives years after a "salvation experience" whatever that is, and they never get baptized and then die. When they stand in front of Jesus will, "I didn't know" work? Shouldn't they have searched the scriptures? There is no way a person can read the scriptures, especially in the new testament without coming across a reference to baptism. Given they have adequate time to cover even a small portion of them.
Thankfully God is my judge and NOT you
I might add you are skating on thin ice with regard to forum rules by implying I will go to hell for disagreeing with your pet doctrine
I did nothing of the sort. I simply said, with scriptural proof, that such people who refuse to get baptized when Jesus commanded it, are living in willful disobedience. The words condemned to hell never left my fingers onto the screen. EVER
My baptism (though I plan on redoing it eventually) I was 15 and when the preacher took me under, I left my feet and the overcoat he was wearing to protect himself from water getting on his suit was instantly filled to the top with water...
The implication is there and you are not allowed to make such implications either.
You have stated I have wilfully disobeyed God, I could report you for that statement alone
hehe, bet he wasn't expecting that!
Because of my extra layers it sounded like a waterfall when I got out of the pool they were so full of water.. I reckon God must have smiled (kindly of course) about that. The joys aye.. I suspect every baptism probably has something to smile about.
may I ask why you are thinking of redoing it?

Report me if you feel the need too. I call a spade a spade, that's just how I am. Disobedience is just that. It may be ignorant disobedience, but disobedience none the less.
Explain to me, why do you not want to be baptized? I promise I won't snap back at you. Help me understand your viewpoint.
ConfuseddotCom has got a point there ByTheSpirit.
actually ConfuseddotCom I think you've taken being called "wilfully disobedient" really graciously. I don't know that I would have been able to be so gracious about it!
I was baptized before I really knew what it's purpose was. Even if I find my thinking of it now is different than the church's doctrine, it was imcomplete then. That really isn't the reason though. The main reason is, after I was baptized things happened, and I just feel since I had recommitted myself, I should be rebaptized. Just a conviction I've had since I was healed.
So its now a crime for a Christian to call out the disobedience of another?
sometimes.
Interesting, I don't agree, but interesting
compassion..
everything Jesus did was with truth and mercy
so you were a heck of lot more hurtful than you needed to be, that's where the crime was.
I feel really sad.
i hope ConfuseddotCom will be ok.
I couldn't agree more. It is one thing to question the validity of saying that water baptism is mandatory for our salvation but if we refuse to be water baptised then we are indeed walking on very thorny ground.I did nothing of the sort. I simply said, with scriptural proof, that such people who refuse to get baptized when Jesus commanded it, are living in willful disobedience. The words condemned to hell never left my fingers onto the screen. EVER
Yes, Truth (disobeying a commandment is disobedience) and mercy (I did not ever condemn that person, I merely pointed out the truth)...
If churches/Christians are getting to the point where you can't keep each other accountable for things, what are we to become?
